I was looking out for a good quality daycare in my vicinity in 2014, when i came across the smiling stars child learning & development center. The creche seemed good enough to meet my needs initially. The owners promised to take care of my daughter (A 16 month baby girl). They initially said that the child's mother needs to stay for 1 day to help the kid adjust. Eventually, one day got stretched as far as 3 weeks and then for the last 1 week in this torturous ordeal, even my mother in law had to go and sit in the daycare. Me and my mom-in-law were practically doing everything for my baby (Feeding her, putting her to sleep, changing her, cleaning her, etc.) and none of the attendants or teachers attempted to take care of my baby. They charged me a good rs.18, 000/- rupees in the first month, saying that rs. 10, 000/- was the daycare fee and 6 thousand was fr registration and rs. 2000/- being a refundable security money. Eventually i had to drop my baby at my mom and dad's place in bhubaneswar for a good 4 months, so that she could recover from the separation anxiety.
I am lodging this complaint here because:
1. The daycare overcharged us for services that were equivalent to nil (Neither did they provide basic care, nor was my daughter eating the food that they cooked, and from a humanitarian point of view, when i used to sit there all day long with the baby, never did they care to offer me a glass of water!)
2. Never did they call us back to enquire what happened with the baby, despite me calling them everytime to inform about the day-to-day status.
3. Neither did they care to refund us the security deposit money, leave alone the daycare + registration. Honestly my money just went down the toilet drains.
4. They are an extremely careless daycare, with dangerous steps running down to the basement within the building and slippery marble floors. If a baby is left unattended, they will surely get injured.
5. The owners/teachers are busy tending to their own children more than the other kids around.
6. The maids are careless and drowsy all day. They do not take care of basic hygiene of the children.
The daycare owes me my money + additional 50% of the total sum for mental harassment and failure of service delivery asap.
