Sir/Madam,
1. I am a resident of No.40, 5th street, ICL Home town, Noombal, Chennai 600 077 (WARD No. 18, Thiruverkadu municiplaity, Chennai).
2. The 5th street Road of the ICL Hometown is in a very bad condition with pot holes. While the other roads in the vicinity which join this 5th street road have been relaid few months back (to a higher level), this 5th street road has not been repaired/relaid till date. Therefore, this road alone is at a much lower level when compared with the adjoining roads (which were relaid recently).
3. The bad condition of the above road (particularly the
South end of the road) is causing immense inconvenience and danger to the road users. More importantly, during the rainy season, even with heavy drizzle of 15-20 minutes, the rainwater stagnates in this road (south end). Infact, the south end of the road becomes a water collection point for the adjoining roads!!!. This stagnant water is extremely dirty due to the excretions of stray dogs and cattle and becomes a breeding ground for mosquitos. Further, since there is no drainage, the only way the road gets dried up is through absorption of this dirty stagnant water by the soil over a period of time(days). This dirty water also gets splashed into the premises of the houses.
4. Sir/Madam, photographs showing the lower level of the road (5th street) and water stagnation after 20 minutes of heavy drizzle are attached for your kind reference.
5. While this issue has been conveyed to various authorities many times during their visit to the locality, the action is still pending.
6. May I therefore request you to take URGENT action to relay the road. As a minimum, kindly repair/relay the south end of the 5th street road, ICL Home town, WARD No. 18, Thiruverkkadu municipality, chennai.
