Thumby Aviation — Deficiency in service

Our last leg of charter from badrinath to dehdradun was intentionally cancelled due to cost reasons. We were told on 23rd that due to bad weather the chopper cannot fly, however on 24th when the weather was clear we were told that chopper has been timed out, and that we have to take road journey. The 35 minflights turned out to be a 9 hour road trip, which resulted in 3 pax falling sick and our further trip was ruined.

The company says they had planned the charter season from 10th May till 23rd June 2024, keeping in view the flight duty limitations for the set of crew of the company and scheduled maintenance activities planned on the helicopter(s). Accordingly, they had planned our last chardham charter to depart from Dehradun on 20th June 2024, to ensure all operations are complete by 23rd June 2024. However, due to inclement weather on 23rd June 2024, this set of passengers could not be brought down. The company arranged for two Innova vehicles for bringing the passengers down to Dehradun post their consent. The company also paid for their additional stay at Badrinath.

The Company is lying by saying they have paid for additional night Stay in Badrinath. Our Original tour package was inclusive of stay in Badrinath and we have paid for it. As such maintenance planned by the company, how can they do when you have taken tour schedule for 24th departure, this is deficiency in service by just denying to fly the schedule return journey charter on 24th.
