Dear Sir/Madam,
I am writing to formally lodge a complaint regarding a fraudulent transaction conducted by TripOdeal (online travel application) and Travelsees (online payment account acting as a travel agent).
Details of the Incident:
• Date of Booking: 14th January 2025
• Travel Date: 15th July 2025
• Passengers: Myself, my wife, and our two children (4 passengers in total)
• Route: Mumbai – Kannur via Bangalore
• Airline: IndiGo
•Total Paid: QAR 33, 892 (via UPI-Google Pay by my wife at approx. 10:33 AM IST)
After making the payment, I did not receive any confirmation or e-ticket. Instead, I received a phone call at 10:39 AM from a person named Mr. Rahul claiming that only the Mumbai to Bangalore segment was confirmed, and I needed to pay an additional INR 13, 000 to confirm the Bangalore to Kannur segment.
Upon receiving this suspicious request, I checked TripOdeal’s reviews online and was shocked to discover many reports of fraud and scams. I immediately suspected foul play.
Despite multiple phone calls (13 in total), and with urgency due to my wife's scheduled surgery at Aster Hospital, Kannur on 16th July, I was eventually sent a partial e-ticket (only for Mumbai to Bangalore) at 1:04 PM, showing a value of INR 27, 672. They falsely claimed that the fare difference of INR 6, 220 for Bangalore to Kannur would be refunded within 7 days.
Shocking Price Discrepancy:
• Actual fare for Mumbai to Kannur (4 passengers) on Indigo: INR 15, 004
• Charged amount: INR 33, 892
• Overcharged amount: INR 18, 888
• They also issued a fake invoice to justify this inflated fare.
Left with no option, we traveled to Bangalore and hired a private taxi to reach Kannur — a strenuous 11-hour journey in poor weather and road conditions — costing us INR 14, 000 extra.

My Request:
I kindly request IATA and concerned authorities to:
1. Investigate this fraudulent activity.
2. Assist in recovering the INR 18, 888 unfairly charged to us.
3. Take stringent action against TripOdeal and Travelsees, to prevent such exploitation of travelers in urgent situations.
