I purchased an Apple MacBook A1989 model battery from Unicorn Solutions, Chennai. After installation, the laptop did not power on. When I informed the seller, they asked me to ship the entire laptop to them for checking.
I sent it on 29 June 2025. Later they claimed the laptop had “water damage, ” which I know is false because I personally replaced the battery, and it had no signs of water exposure. I requested a return on 2 June 2025, but didn't give any reply nor attend my call and they finally asked me the address on 16 June 2025 and sent.
Due to financial constraints, I could not repair it immediately. On 12 November 2025, I took the laptop to a service center in Bangalore. The technician opened it in front of me and found that multiple ICs and components were missing from the motherboard, suggesting it was tampered with or swapped. Either my motherboard was replaced with a duplicate one, or ICs were intentionally removed. I have all voice chat and call record proofs only
This has caused severe damage on motherboard — a laptop that needed only a battery replacement ( new board costs ₹20, 000).
This is a clear case of service fraud and tampering, violating my consumer rights under the Consumer Protection Act 2019.
I m planning to record video and open that again to check seriel number of board and back case
I request:
1. A full refund or replacement motherboard for my MacBook A1989.
2. Compensation for the damage caused due to negligence and tampering. Was this information helpful? |
