[Resolved]  Upeida — toll tax from serving army personnel for transportation of household goods when moving on permanent posting

Dear sir
I am serving in indian army and was ordered to move on permanent posting from bathinda to lucknow. I sent my household goods by 32 ft container hired from transport company. It moved from bathinda on evening of 08 september 2020. The truck reached the toll tax plaza near lucknow on 10 septembet evening around 1800h. The toll tax authorities did not allowed the truck to cross and demanded toll tax. The army personnel accompanying the truck showed them octroi certificate from our head office for toll tax exemption and also the individual showed his serving i card for proof. Even then they didn't agree to exemption. I also spoke to manager of toll tax booth and tried to convince him but he did not agree. I requested him to sign and give me in writing that he can not exempt toll tax for the truck for which he refused to do so
They made the truck to wait till 4 hours and latet on seeing that nothing was moving our way the army personnel accompanying the truck paid the toll tax and then only they were allowed to move out in to city.
