Subject: Request application regarding the unauthorized increase of electricity load from 02 kW to 04 kW without consent, high electricity billing, and restoration of the original electricity load.
Respected Sir,
01. With due respect, I wish to state that I am a resident of Awas Vikas Colony, Amethi. I had taken an electricity connection (Consumer Number: [protected]) for my residence with a sanctioned load of 02 kW. It is a matter of great surprise and regret that without my knowledge, without any prior written notice, and without my consent, the sanctioned load of my connection has been increased from 02 kW to 04 kW by the department.
02. There is no additional electrical appliance (such as an AC, heater, or heavy machinery) in my house that requires a 04 kW load. Despite this, due to the load increased by the department, my electricity bill is consistently coming out abnormal and excessively high.
03. Previously, my electricity bill used to be normal and in accordance with my actual consumption, which I also deposited on time. However, after increasing the load, the electricity bill for the month of June has come to ₹3, 149, and July 2026 ₹ 3, 150/- which is very high compared to my actual electricity consumption and limited income. It is extremely difficult for a simple and financially weak family to pay such a heavy bill.
04. I have already made several verbal and written requests to the department in this regard to get my premises inspected and restore my original load of 02 kW, but till date, no solution has been found for my problem. Due to this, my family and I are facing immense mental and financial distress.
05. Therefore, I humbly request you to conduct an impartial inspection of my electricity connection and premises, immediately terminate the load increased without consent, and restore my connection to its original load of 02 kW. Along with this, kindly pass orders to investigate the inflated electricity bill and make the necessary corrections/amendments.
06. If prompt action is not taken on this just request, I will be compelled to submit my complaint before higher authorities, the Electricity Consumer Grievance Redressal Forum (Discom), and other competent forums, for which the department will bear full responsibility.
07. I have full confidence that you will understand my actual situation, take a swift and just decision, and provide me relief.
