I want to bring to everyone’s attention a concerning experience I recently had with a consultancy claiming to offer job placement services.

I was contacted for a screening round and informed that my interview was scheduled for 18th March 2026. During the conversation, I was given two options:

A “non-paid” option with an 8.3% charge after placement

A “paid” option requiring ₹10, 260 (later negotiated to ₹9, 100) for “confirmed placement”

When I declined to pay, I was told that:

My resume would not be forwarded to the company

Despite being “shortlisted, ” they could influence internal contacts to sideline my application

This kind of communication raises serious concerns about unethical and potentially fraudulent practices. No legitimate recruiter or consultancy should:

Ask candidates for upfront payment

Guarantee job placement in exchange for money

Use pressure or threats regarding hiring outcomes

I strongly advise job seekers to stay cautious and avoid engaging with such entities. Always verify consultancies and remember that genuine employers do not charge candidates for job opportunities.
