My father, a senior citizen who has undergone multiple surgeries, went to the Ahmedabad VFS Canada Centre only for biometric submission. I had already paid the $85 biometric fee to IRCC. However, he was forced to pay ₹4, 325 for a so-called “Premium Lounge Service” which he neither understood nor requested.
He was made to sign papers thinking they were part of the regular procedure. No premium services were provided at all — no refreshments, no dedicated assistance, nothing.
This is a clear case of misleading and exploiting an elderly person. I’ve written to VFS and IRCC demanding a refund. I urge others to be very careful and refuse any extra payment at the Ahmedabad VFS centre unless you fully understand what you’re signing.
Shame on VFS for calling this “optional” when they make people sign without explanation. Transparency and ethics are completely missing.
