I am writing to urgently bring to your attention a deeply troubling incident I, as a female and a diabetic patient and in fasting for more than 12-14 hours, experienced at Vijaya Diagnostic Center Himayatnagar, Hyderabad branch.
I encountered multiple distressing issues during today's visit;
My Experience:
Miscommunication & Wrong Information: I requested an internal abdominal scanning, but during billing the cashier provided inaccurate information. Misleading information during billing and appointment scheduling for abdominal scanning.
Rude Treatment: The radiologist displayed impoliteness by asking the female patient to leave the scanning room and speak to management instead, without performing the necessary procedure. The center manager failed to address the mishap appropriately, showing a lack of courtesy and empathy towards the patient's situation. The manager asked me to return the next day for the service, without providing any immediate solution or compensation for the inconveniences faced. I tried reaching the AGM (Mahesh) as well however neither he answered my call nor bothered to call me back.
Delayed MRI procedure: Despite scheduling the MRI well in advance with the help of the customer support contact center team, I had to endure an additional 1.5-hour wait, causing undue stress and inconvenience.
Additional Context:
The scanning was part of a package, including routine diabetic blood sample tests which was enforced on me whereas I wanted a better discounted price for the blood sample tests which I was looking for.
I explicitly communicated the need for internal scanning during billing and appointment fixing itself as I am uncomfortable with external scanning due to excessive consumption of water.
Questioning the scheduling of an appointment without ensuring the availability of necessary resources like female radiologist as the male radialogist wasn't skilled enough to carry out the procedure.
Lack of Knowledge and Understanding:
Concerns about the team's lack of medical knowledge and understanding, leading to inappropriate service denial.
My Expectations:
Immediate Action: Seeking clarification on the immediate steps and actions that will be taken to rectify the situation and prevent similar incidents in the future.
Compensation: Requesting information on the compensation that will be provided as a gesture of goodwill for the disturbed and disappointing services.
Such incidents not only tarnish your diagnostic center's reputation but also erode the trust patients, especially female ones, place in your services. Urgent intervention is crucial to investigate and address these concerns, implementing corrective measures to prevent a recurrence.
