Vmware — vmware asking employees aadhaar

Hi sir, am working in software company bangalore. they are asking for aadhaar card copy and number mandatorily submitted for employment. they say reason, it is needed for pf. but my pf account has UAN and already linked/seeded with aadhaar. so do i need to submit aadhaar card to private software company, that stores employees data through some US payroll company. is it fair or can i deny them ? if they force, can i file complaint legally ?
