Whatsapp — attempt to hack my mobile

Yesterday, I got added to a group without my consent and when I exited that group and closed my whatsapp, Whatsapp was opening again and again. I could not take the screenshot but that group had only me and 2 more unknown numbers and the chat had 3-4 texts and one photo of a guy sitting in a desk at some office. I think they tried to hack my phone when i downloaded that photo.
Please see to it as soon as possible. I believe they tried to send some malware or something like that. Please help!
