I went to Zudio - Kammanahalli on 14 Oct 2023 between 6.30-7.30 PM. Items were displayed with sale tags of 799, 899 etc. I picked a pair of pants which were kept in the 799 stand, there were 4 or 5 of the same pants kept in the same stand on neat hangers. The price tag on the pants was for 999 but since it was kept in the 799 stand, I assumed it was a sale price. There were many clothes with higher price tags kept at slashed prices so I assumed this pair of pants cost 799.
At the billing counter, this item was billed for 999. My reasoning was that either I should be paying 799 as it was in the 799 stand or they should have kept it in the 999 stand. Upon enquiring, the cashier had a very casual rude approach saying he does not know and is not responsible for any confusion caused. I asked him to get me the manager, he did not do that instead started accusing customers of misplacing items in wrong stands. I argued that they have the team there to keep looking out for such things, the tone-deaf cashier guy still kept arguing that they cannot keep track of customers and all these things because crowd management is a hassle. I did not appreciate the false pretense. I bought the pants because I liked them & I had the money, but I don't appreciate a jump of INR 300 at the very end of the purchase process. I also did not appreciate the nonchalant attitude of the cashier. He should have apologized and kept quiet, instead he kept arguing pointlessly.
