On 9th June 2014 I traveled from KUL to CHENNAI with
my family on following ticket. You will observe from the ticket that the date
of journey is 9th July but I traveled on 9th June 2014.
Actually we were supposed to travel on 9th June 2014
however at the time of booking ticket & due oversight we booked return
ticket on 9th July instead of 9th June. When we reached
KL Airport, we realized our mistake but anyhow we have to travel back to India.
We approached person manning the Air India express counter
named Sultan & one lady ( both in uniform), who said flight is full and
cannot accommodate us on the flight IX 662 to Mumbai on our request he agreed
to fly us up to Chennai and asked us to pay MYR 800 ( INR 16000) in cash and
did not provide any receipt. On asking for receipt we have been told that we
will get receipt through mail on my mail i.d.. Since we were in hurry as
we had to catch flight we did not insist or pursue for receipt of cash paid to
him.. However till date we have not received any mail or receipt of cash
payment made to the person at Kuala Lumpur Air India express counter.
We feel first of all there should not be excess charges
levied to us to fly up to Chennai and even though those were applicable it
should be with proper receipt. I had also incurred additional around
Rs.34, 000/- to fly from Chennai to Mumbai. I feel Air India Express to refund
me all the excess money charged to me & paid by me in cash to Air India
employee along with refund of the air fare I incurred to travel from
Chennai to Mumbai and matter to be investigated in depth as one more passenger
also charged and cash payment taken without receipt on same day by the staff
manning the counter, strict action to be taken against concern employee
involved in this to avoid such cases in future.

Bharat Kulkarni
