My father travelled from Amritsar to Dubai (IX 191) on December 19, 2013. We requested for wheelchair as he cannot walk without support. With great difficulty, we managed to get him a wheelchair at the Asr Airport. After he boarded he told the airhostess that he would need wheelchair when they land.
Much to our disappointment and Inconvenience, the crew said they were helpless, did not even care to help him with luggage. He is an old man, who walks with support and these Inhuman insensitive staff failed to do their duty as well.
He had no choice but to somehow drag his luggage. A co-passenger was nice enough to help him during immigration procedures. But it took him 2 hours to get out of the airport after landing as none of the Air India Express employees cared even though the wheelchair requirement is clearly mentioned on the ticket.
Such a shame we are an international airline!
Here are the details if at all you would care in the least to correct such negligence, insensitive act.
Passenger Name: Narinder Kumar Pathak
