Ansal University, Gurgaon — Unauthorised deduction of Rs.17,500/- made from Hostel Fee

I had got my son Shikhar Chitkara provisionally admitted on 18.07.2015 in Ansal University in B.Tech(ECE) vide Regn. No.15003111. Since, we were very keen for final admission so we also deposited the full Hostel Fee for Rs.1, 45, 000/- with the university on 23.07.2015. Thereafter, due to some personal reasons, we were forced to withdraw the admission and therefore, I applied for withdrawl of admission on 30.07.2015 whereas the academic session was likely to start on 10.08.2015 as per the academic calender of Ansal University. The admission fee has been refunded to me as per UGC Rules but the hostel fee refunded to me to the tune of Rs.1, 27, 500/- against Rs.1, 45, 000/- is not as per UGC Rules as a huge deduction of Rs.17, 500/- has been made by the university (referring to their police which was not communicated to me) when the student has neither physically reported in the University nor was allotted any room in the campus hostel. I, therefore, request to kindly intervene in the matter and force the university to refund the balance hostel fee of Rs.17, 500/- considering the above circumstances as there looks no justification of such deduction when the withdrawl application was submitted with Ansal University well in advance on 30.07.2015 and academic session was to start from 10.08.2015 and even the student has not physically reported in the University.
