As per govt they want mandate to select only tv channels which are watchable by consumer to reduce money wested on cable provider but in my location cable provider are taking this as their benefit. Now they are selling same package with double amount. They have created packs like so consumer will helplessly select higher package to get favourate channels. We have got internet service from 7 Star Cable which is a local ISP for Vile Parle(W) area. They have charged us for an annual service and now we are stuck with the after sales service. The internet uptime is not guaranteed and when ever we call to ask for them to fix it the services takes upto 1-2 business days just to show up. Even after fixing the problem, you'll be lucky to not call them in the next 36 hours.

I've taken a 7 Star Cable connection since April 2005 at my Lokandwala flat. I also took a set top box in the coming year as we were told that the monthly rental will be Rs 250 instead of Rs 350. The cost of the box was around Rs 3000.

However in the last year, the box has gone for repairs 3 times. Each time the operator takes an average of 2 weeks. Also they raised the monthly rental back to Rs 350 a year back.
