Central Bank Of India — Complaint regarding rust & water leakage in locker number 225 f | |||
Dear sir / madam, This is with reference to our locker number 225f in central bank of india, khanda colony branch. We have opted the locker for our use and have paid the rent till year 2018 along with the deposit of rs. 10000/-. On 25th nov 2016 we tried opening the locker and found that it was not opening with the key. When we check with the staff and branch manager, i was been told that bank need to call the lock mechanic and i need to pay the charges of rs. 7000/- for same. When i question why i need to pay, as the issue is in the locker itself and bank need to maintain the same. I was been told that bank signs an agreement with customer that in case of any issues of locker, bank will charge this to customer. We have asked for the copy of the agreement and was been told that it will be provided on monday, 28th nov 2016. Post my request to put some oil in the locker, permission was been granted to me to bring the oil and try opening through same. The locker got opened post placement of oil. When we open the locker we found that the locker was having rust and water inside. Also there is leakage in ceiling above the locker. We have shown the same to bank staff and branch manager. This is absolutely ridiculous where bank is not maintaining the lockers and charging to us for same. I want to know whose responsibility is to maintain the locker and for what reason the bank is charging the deposit and rent from customer. Seeing the facility and maintenance, i have lost my faith with central bank of india and want to have my complete rent and deposit back with no cancellation or early termination charges. Also i am writing this complaint to cbi grievance department to take some action against the branch and help us sorting out this issue permanently. Attach snaps which shows the water leakage, rust and water inside the locker for your information. Awaiting for your positive revert on this issue.
