Cmri — Dr. Sabyasachi Mitra

Studied decision taken by us:
a) Never to consult Dr. Sabyasachi Mitra
b) Avoid CMRI in future
Dr. Sabyasachi Mitra, considering that he is a Psychiatrist meant to treat the so-called ‘Mind & Mental’ patients, is surprisingly rude, abrupt, unsympathetic & mostly lacking in compassion while interacting with my son (patient) & my wife. That he refused to allow me, a 2nd accompanying companion and the father to the patient, in his chamber is another matter !!). He did not even allow the mother, who happen to know the problem much more closely, to talk & explain.
His consulting time was just about 10 mins. & consultation fee was Rs.1600 during our 1st visit in the last week of Feb. ‘21.
When we went for a FOLLOW-UP consultation 2 weeks later (as advised by him) in the 2nd week of Mar. ’21,
1. we were told by CMRI to come before 10 am as “the doctor comes at 10 am”
2. at the payment counter we were told to pay Rs.2100, as the “doctor has increased his fees from 1st Mar.” !!! – leave alone, there being no ‘reduced’ follow-up (within a month, say) fees, as is customary in other medical establishments across the country.
3. We waited from 10 am, along with 18-20 patients, till about 11.45 am – with the doctor still remaining absent !!!
4. Finally after a lot of shouting / disagreements at the reception / payment counter (at 1st floor), the ‘area in-charge’ agreed to refund our paid amount – particularly because she had no idea when the doctor would come & his secretary Ms. Jasmine was unreachable !!!
We concluded that we were just a number to Dr. Sabyasachi Mitra & he was only counting money after his covid-lockdown “losses” !!! – without caring a damn for the patients !!!
