Columbia Asia Hospital — renault of claim by star and harassment and detention but colombia on 14/9/17

We took one star comprehensive insurance policy no. P/161121/01/3017/013299 from star health for inr5.0 lacs on 31/03/17 for my husband rajesh thanai.

Rajesh thanai had pain in pancreatitis on 11/9/17 and was admitted to columbia hospitalghaziabad. The admission to the hospital was done after columbia got initial approval to the claim by star.

We got treatment till 14/9/17 on assurance that the claim will be settled by star.

To our surprise the claim was denied by star without any substantial ground. Eventually we were forced by columbia to arrange funds at our own. Our requests for relief in bill was turned down by columbia and rather we were asked to pay inflated bill (Ie extra than demanded from star by columbia) and on our persuation they agreed to a little discount. We were flashed with a bill of inr 48669 besides inr2595 already paid in cash for tests.

Sir, we had no option than to arrange loans from our friends as columbia detained us in the hospital for 8 hours at a stretch

We beg to state that the patient is not financially sound and cannot afford this burden of inr 52000 so paid to columbia under forced situations.

We therefore request you to get our case cleared under no-charges as per rules of govt of india some percentage of cases have to be treated on no-charges basis by all hospitals.

We shall request you to please consider our case on priority and get us the refund of inr52000 from columbia hospital ghaziabad.

We shall also appeal you to punish columbia hospital too for our detention for 8 hours and harassing us all the while.
