[Resolved]  CESC Limited — Faulty meter reading & excess bill amount

Sir,
I am a consumer of cesc limited ([protected]) kolkata and i am very much astonished to view the electric bill of may 2011.
The bill shows the total unit of 248 of may 2011 whereas in may 2010 it was 174. It is totally ridiculous.
I think the meter reading is not taken or may be the meter is faulty or the person not take right meter reading.
Due to excessive meter reading the bill of may 2011 will display the gross amount of rs. 1270/- which must be in the range of rs. 500 - 600/-.
So, i request you kindly look after the matter to not pay the excess amount.

Subject: to check meter

Sub : to check meter for correct reading : consumer no. [protected]

I would like to inform that may to oct'13 an excessive units are appearing in the
Meter as well as in the bill. Where as i use 1 or 2 fans, 1 freeze, 2nos 40 watt tube
Lights, and 3 pls 5 to 15 watt. Except freeze nothing is constant.

In the month of may'12 99 unit to 150 in may'13, like-wise jun 115 to 182 jul 76 to 154 aug 102 to
214 sept 87 to 152 and in oct 77 to 302 comparing to last year i. E. 2012 is just abnormal reading in the meter only.

I am conforming that last ten years with the same electrical appliances in my home, my meter reading never such huge consumption. Secondly, my average range of consumption with the same appliances before may'13 was 60 unit to 160 maximum.

It is assumed that cese meter itself is faulty and giving abnormal reading and bearing a huge amount for last six months. Such as in oct'13 consumption in 2012 was 77 units & in 2013 it has reach to 302 unit. Is it possible with the same appliances?.

You are requested to kindly arrange to check the said meter immediately and celebrate for correct reading for consumption.

I hope your good office will take all necessary steps to check the meter and subsequently all needful steps at the earliest please.

CID NO. [protected] is not satisfied of billing comes every month beyond expectations. So, I do request you to send your engineer /technician for checking my meter. Apart from that I want to install a new AC machine and what is the procedure to get the connection. I want to share you that already I have two AC in my flat. Please guide me through my mail I'd and will be obliged to you. I am awaiting your email.

Sub: Unbelievable billing amount

Dear Sir/ Madam,
I beg most respectfully to state that I, Sunita Kabra resident of 34 JELIAPARA 1ST BYE LN, LP- 104/2, HOWRAH- 711 101. My Customer ID [protected] and Consumer No. [protected], Meter No. 2584655.
This is to inform that CESC is charging me with an unbelievable billing amount, which is not for only one month but it is continuing since long. We used only three fans, three tubes, one T V (generally used only for 3/4 hours). I have one ac but it’s not using now. I thought the amount I pay for my electricity bill is in no way justifiable. In the current bill you have charged Rs. 4250.00. Present meter reading is 42560 and previous meter reading is 42054.
I think behind of this type of disgusting bill amount may be my meter is disturbing or may by hooking by any others. Already I have submitted a complain letter about that before it. But you hadn’t got any action taken against my complaints.
Therefore you are requested to investigate the reason and solve my concern of my application and rectify all the mistakes as early as possible or adjust of my next electric bill then I will be obliged to you. Otherwise I have to go to consumer forum.

Note:
1) Please note I have already made the payment (i.e. INR 4250.00) of extra amount please make the necessary adjustments from the next Bills onward.
2) I am enclosing a photocopy of my bill along with this letter.
