RBS misplaces my credit card payment cheque and charges me a late fee for 650/- Being a prompt payer of my card, as usual I dropped a cheque for Rs.5000/- vide cheque No.099552 dt.17th of Oct and dropped on 18th at RBS bank Banjara Hills. The payment due dt is 25th. of every month.
End of the month the amt was not debited from my account and when I started receiving calls from RBS phone banking for payment. I approached the bank at B'Hills and informed Mr.Shanmugha at the desk abt my mode of payment and gave all the details. And, he clearly informed me that the collection personal have misplaced a problem and he has been received complaints from other card holders. I was asked to come after 3 days to know the status.
I approached the bank and Mr.Shanmugha directed me to go the customer service and again I had to reiterate the entire version. The customer service official took the collection people on the line and informs me that the cheque I mentioned has been returned bank as I had wrongly mentioned the credit card number. I am quite sure that never it has happened that I have ever written any cheque wrongly. I have asked them to retrieve my cheque and send it to the mailing address.
Every time I approach the bank, I have been asked to contact the phone banking, and all my calls to the phone banking officials are sheer waste of time. I am yet to receive any clear resolution on my payment.
In case, the credit card number is wrongly mentioned on the cheque, I am willing to pay the late payment charges. But, without verifying the cheque that I have issued, I have made it clear to the phone banking officials and the Bank at RBS that no payment will be made till my cheque is retrieved.
