I got a call from dinning plus saying my cell no short listed for availing promotion offer contains discount card foreign travel etc. I continued the call since it is free offer. They asked for my HDFC credit card no and expiry date. Then I said how can I share my credit card no. They told me that it is only credit card no and not secrete no is used to contact HDFC people to offer discount on my credit card. I shared my HDFC credit card no since I knew that I am not sharing secrete no. I repeatedly asked that it should not be used any other purpose and they confirmed the same.
Two days later I got SMS from HDFC mentioned Rs. 5449 has been debited from "DINING PLUS". Immediatly I rang up HDFC help desk and enquired about the payment. They clearly mentioned that it should not be possible to transact online without secrete no of the credit card. I really supprised how they did it. They also taken my email-id to send the details. But did not received any mail so far from dinning plus.
I also called up "DINING PLUS" contact no and made a compliant. There is no response, mean while I received "DINNING PLUS" card and broachers from the company. It is a highly level cheating and fraud to the consumer. There few things which are utterly violated and supprised how the company survived so fare with this cheating goal.
1. How it is possible to avail my credit card with out knowing Credit Card secrete no. I shared only credit card no and not secrete no by knowing the risk.
2. How the deal is possible to finalize over aphone.
3. Company told me one thing and did totally different which I incurred loss of money and valuable time.

I refused to take this offer continuously but calls were received on 09/02/12 at around 12.30 am and 2.30 pm they again called me and asking to just give the expiry date and nothing else, and also added that I have to make the payment in 12 months and only after the detailed papers of the offer from dinning plus received at my address.Ie-15 days from the date of transaction. I gave the expiry date and they are through with it.
Despite of my continues refusal I was intimated that they already verified the details and processing the transaction and I can cancel the transaction if the written offer documents were not as the same as told over the phone.
They DID the transaction on 10/02/2012 and the same day I received a call from an ICICI official at 13: 45 pm on 10/02/2012 asking for confirmation of transaction of rs 5499/- In favour of dining plus. I requested the official to consider this transaction as fraudulent. The official confirmed that payment against this transaction is being detained & advised me to get the card blocked.
This is the prone challenge to high tech / Advance banking.
I will also write this complain to banking ombudsman, ICICI nodal officers, dinning plus team(if any-exist) and want to lodge the f.I.R.
Hope I will be reverted by the satisfactory actions taken on this matter and customer's safety have the upper hand against the frauds.
