Myself Md. Abu Kamaludin of 279, Nalhati Patharkalpara Nalhati, Birbhum- 713243 applied for Voter ID card in 2008under 293-Nalhati Constituency along with all required documents, but when I received the same there is spelling mistake in my name. The card has been printed in the name of Mohammad Aabukamalauddin instead of Md Abu Kamaludin whereas at the time of applying I have given my PAN card photocopy in which clearing my name is mentioned, not only that when I approached for correction of the same I got reply " you have got your voter ID card that is enough ", I request kindly issue me a fresh voter ID card with my existing details and send it to my address as per your records. My voter ID Card no. is JDW2597342 DOB 12/08/1985 father's name : ANISUL HAQUE add: 279, NALHATI PATHARKALPARA NALHATI, BIRBHUM-731243.
Kindly look into the matter as I am also not able to use the Voter ID card for any purpose as ID or Address proof.

I have been informed that a group of people have applied for VOTER ID CARD using my residential address as their own, however, they are neither my tenants nor a resident of the address which I own. Inspite of lodging a complaint I was told by your authorities that the process & formalities hav already been completed & the cards would be issued sometime soon to those who are guilty inspite of the fact that it is an unlawful activity. Instead of investigating into the matter & finding out the loopholes which exist in the system of issuing voter id card (proper verification), we were further told that we should have kept our eyes open so that it could have been stopped at the right time.
My question to you Sir is..Is it what is expected from your authorities? Instead of feeling ashamed of a faulty system which is existent, they are abusing innocent victims like us, its outlandishly shameful for the whole ELECTION DEPARTMENT.
It again proves that we can expect many such terrrorist like those of Amir Kasab to plague the entire nation in the future as well, as the country and its system still looks so vulnerable and non-challant even when special caution should be taken to isuue such citizen proof or id proofs like that of voter id card. Last but not the least, investigation & proper verification is not our job, the election office gets their salary from the tax which we pay, so they are government officials who are salaried by the common men's money, so its time that they realise that they are answerable to us. Instead of giving me some solace ur officials aggravated the problem showing their absolute indifference. Who will quantify my mental stress which i faced due to your faulty verification system that is existent?? Its an utter shame, & i quite realise this correspondence would just be dumped as other letters in the web & no action would be taken. But I am no way going to sit back.

Few months ago I submitted a form with photographs to enroll my name in the Kolkata Municipal Corporation voter list(2010) against which they gave me a counterpart and told me to show it while receiving the voter id card. But when I went to collect my voter id card at the place specified, I was told that my name has not been enrolled in the corporation voter list. Firstly, is there any way I can find why my name was not enrolled? Secondly, how will I get my voter id card?..I have been wandering from office to office, from desk to desk, but in vain!!
I will be highly obliged if you take a take out a little of your busy time and look into the matter, so that I can cast my vote in the coming KMC election and get my voter id card soon. A quick response from your end will be highly appreciated.

With due respect, it is submitted that I am a resident of 77/C, Dilkusha Street, Kolkata - 700 017, West Bengal.
At age 19, on the date: 21.01.2007, I had applied for my voter id card at "PARK CIRCUS BOYS SCHOOL" which is the Polling Booth of my area.
All the necessary documents were submitted by me along with the form and on 13.02.2007, I had shown my original documents at the "Lady Brabourne College Kolkata" as I was told to do so.
They had informed me to look up for my name in the Registered list after 10-15 days and after the stipulated period of time I had seen the list in the Park Circus High School Notice board and my name was written in it saying that I had successfully registered in the Electoral Poll List.
I got my EPIC Number: JJM2832053. AC: 161 Ballygunge, Part No.65, and serial no. 252.
However, I could not find any official or school staff to whom I could ask as when I'll be receiving my Voter ID card.
One of my neighbour who had registered along with me received his Voter ID card one month later via courier but I never received my voter ID Card.
Ever since, whenever an announcement is made about Voter ID Card Registrations or Officials visiting our area, I visit the camp only to be told to visit the Survey Building and when I go there, I am told that I will be receiving my ID Card once a Camp is started in my Area.
It's been more than 3 years and I have been running here and there without ANY help from any of the officials.
I have even voted in the previous election by showing my PAN CARD. And even my Name and Photo is there in the Electoral List, however how hard I try, I get no support whatsoever from the Government Officials who manage these things.
I have lost hope and I now consider it very unlikely to get any support from anyone but I still write to you as this is the only way I can lay my grievance forward to the higher authorities. Hoping to get some support from your side.
