Employees Provident Fund Office, Chennai — Misappropriation of PF Interest Amount.

On 29/4/2008 i recd a letter from the Employees Provident Fund Office , Chennai Letter Ref No: RC/TN/Cash/Group 12/ P.I.no 255 which stated that the PF amount of 872 has been credited to my Citibank Account No [protected] .

My PF Account is TN/36546/98

the Cheque details were given as Cheque No: 561282 Dated 24/4/2008 Amount : 872.

I informed them via email on 1st November 2008, that i had not received the credit in my account for the same.however the despite writing several emails and reminders, i posted my greviance in the in CPGRAMS to which the office responded that i needed to submit proofs to them in terms of the bank account and my passport copy, the same was furnished to them in scanned copy as well as in hard copy by courier. post that they stated that they have checked their records and that the amount stands disbursed.

I responded to them stating that although they had disbursed the money the same never reached my Account and since they have confirmed that the cheque has been encahsed, i highlighted that a possible scam might be taking place. despite sending several reminders and emails begging to return my money ( rightfully owned by me) the PF officers have chosen to remain silent. in the interim i approach Citibank to clarify if any cheque was received by them. to which they requested certain details like
If the cheque is sent through post/courier

> 2. If despatched through Post, provide the RLA number
> 3. If sent through Courier, Name and Airway Bill Number
> 4. Address to which it was sent
> 5. Date of despatch

> If cheque is deposited at any branch

> 1)Exact date and place of deposit

I request the PF officials to help me with the above details so that the bank officials can trace the same. but again the PF officials in chennai have chosen to remain silent, i am not sure if they are involved in the fraud and how many innocent indians like me are losing hard earned money in a similar fashion, i beg for justice.
