Expedia — REFUND REQUIRED - EXPEDIA

I have made a hotel booking through Expedia on phone on 28th Nov at 6 pm to make the booking for hotel on 29th Nov. . We specifically asked for hotel in Ratnagiri near to railway station & the hotel was booked. We were advised by one representative of the expedia about one & only hotel room booking in entire Ratnagiri is available at Lotus Beach Resort in Ratnagiri. We asked to book the same as we were already out of time. A confirmation email was send to us at 6:06 pm same day. The Lotus Beach Resort Murud, At And Post Muruda hotel was booked by Expedia.

However, when we reached Ratnagiri on 29th Morning (11:15 am), we got to know that the hotel is situated 200 KMS away from Railway station & the hotel is situated in Taluka Dapoli, Ratnagiri, DISTRICT- 415 713.

We immediately contacted Expdian on call & informed them about the same & asked hem to cancel the booking & refund the money. The call was made around 11:30 am on 29th Nov.
They were unable to cancel or handle our complaint till date & the worst part is that they have NOT refunded our Rs 2000/- in lieu of this..
We had to immediately take the hotel names "Sea Rock" this has resulted in more expenditure, we had to bear..
Reply of the Expedia to us on 30th Nov is below:

“In reference to your email, I understand your concern about cancellation. However, please be informed that cancellation depends upon the hotel discretion. We have contacted the hotel and they have refused for the refund.

Further please be informed that I have checked the reservation details and it seems that you have booked the reservation online.”

I can share all the receipts of the alternate hotel booked with train tickets to confirm that I was in Ratnagiri during 29th & 30th Nov.

Please assist us to get our money back.. We require Help in this matter.
