[Resolved]  HDFC Bank — Harrasment call from the collection department of kolkata location

Dear sir

I am holding credit card of HDFC Bank [protected] of name Subhashish Bhattacharya .I have always ensured that all the payments are being made on time till February 2010. I am using this card for the last three years.

Since last month I have been undergoing some financial crisis and hence requested the customer care to freeze the whole amount and instead of paying the minimum amount due, to pay the rest amount in EMI's not more than Rs 3000/-.

The executive and the manager told me that once I make the payment of
minimum amount due for the month of February 2010, all the late fees, interest would be waived off and then only they can turn the whole amount in EMI. Once I make the payment they will get back to me within two days. But nobody got back to me with the details.

This month again I have started getting calls from the collection department. The executive name is Avijit
Banerjee. He calls from the number[protected]. Intially he used to call me 3 -4 times a day and asked for the payment. But off late he is calling me 20 -30 times a day and if I do not response to the call he keeps on calling. He is abusing me and going to the extent of my fore fathers. He uses all kind of vulgar and abusive languages. He has amde comments on my caste.

He has also mention that on my payment his appraisal and incentive is depending hence he will take out the money from me, for that he can go to any extent.

The appartment I stay as a tenant he has called up the neighbour next door and while the gentle man was not home his wife who is bed ridden as she is paralyzed had answered the called , Avijit was not only abusive to this sick and elderly couple, but had threatened them also with dire consequences and was asking money from them also.

He again called me back and said he would be keep calling in this manner and will also called up my office and all the possible contacts he can managed and make my life miserable. He said he will ensure that I am not able to enter my apppartment. He has catergorically said that he has taken it as a personal challenge and will ensure that within 24 hrs my life would be an hell. I would left with only two option which is either to end my life or to walk to him on my knees and begging for forgiveness,

This is not a way somebody should be treated. I am not saying that I am not going to make the payment , Its just that I am not able to pay the huge interest amount right now. Hence want to freeze the amount and pay back in EMI's not more than Rs 300 / month.

Would request you intervention at the earliest and resolve this issue as me and my family is in mental trauma just because of the collection executive Avijit Banerjee calling from the number[protected] from Kolkata Branch. His manager name is Anindita Basu mobile number [protected].

HDFC Credit Card Collection Department — abusive language used by HDFC collection executive

Dear sir,

my name is Vijay a. chandan my card no. is [protected] I am holding this card from last 3 to 4 year there is no problem from my end to make payment to you but from last month due to some business work I am not in town and its delay from my end to make payment and your payment collection department is harassment to make of rs. 880 cash when I am ready to make entire payment by chq but no your collection department mr. navine is harassment from last 20 to for cash payment and today morning one lady also come on my phone she started mentally harassment for payment when I say your entire payment is ready but she is not try to lessen and start shout and tell me that I am cheater and I am defaulter for payment without knowing matter and other detail pleas look in this and suggest to us what to do in this.

They harassed me for one year and i want to share my experience with everyone.

HDFC bank Credit card recovery department is most notorious in the country.

That is the reason they can show very low Non Performing Assets because they never write off any of the settlements done with the customers.
They did the same with me for one year. I took the matter with ombudsman, using all the emails that i had sent for one year, the settlement letter scanned copy and the proof of payment that i had done. Now i have received the zero balance confirmation and the write off in cibil.

They try to get you into accepting expired settlement letter after which you have no rights. Make sure you make the payment within the written time frame of the settlement letter at all cost

*they sent harassing recovery agents on 'behalf of HDFC Credit card'
*the agent wanted me to make part payments rather than asking for settlement letter
*they tried to make me accept the expired settlement letter.
*they did not honour their written commitment made via their settlement letter for writting off the dues.
*they kept on refusing on emails and kept asking for more money for writing off in cibil records.
* I took up the issue with their "Nodal officer" as well but to no use.
*finally i took all the mails to the ombudsman and got the issue resolved.
*Till date HDFC credit card department holds that everything that was done is in accordance with bank policies. (only God knows how many inhumane policies do they have in their kitty)
*they have wasted my whole one year in followups, mental harrasment, and botheration.

Stay away from HDFC bank for all reasons.

may be Mr. Bhattacharya was an exceptional in yours words but for your information things are same for me also. I have been conversation with HDFC Creditt card Customer care section for last 8 months From oct'2010 but I m yet to receive a positive reply.

Apart from that when i finally made my mind that if things wont get right, i will delay the payments from last two months (APR-MAY'11) people from collection department started harshing me, started visiting my home without prior notice and hardly i can belief my ears they all there to speak any damn language they want to get money out my pocket. funny thing is I get reply from Customer care section stating
"THANK YOU MR. JAISWAL / YADAV". Till date no resolution ( 27.05.2011)

With due respect I beg to inform you that from sources I have come to know that a distant acquaintance of mine, named "Mr. Arindam Sinha" vide PAN: BQEPS8270B and Jurisdiction: WBG/W/149/4 had taken some loan from HDFC Bank (Probably Credit Card) some years back and have not repaid. Some days back he was tried to be contacted from HDFC Bank's collection department (Mr. Vinay probably) over phone asking him about his present residential address which he avoided by misguiding them as he had changed his house after taking the loan without informing the bank to avoid repaying it.
2. In this connection as per the duties of a sincere citizen of the country, I would love to inform you that this person is person is presently residing at "CA 2, Deshbandhu Nagar, Baguiati, Kolkata - 700059, West Bengal (near Chawal patti)" in a rented flat in the 1st floor of the apartment.
3. This is my utmost request that you will pay due importance to the matter and will do whatever necessary to pass these information to the concerned Banks to avoid his fraudulent practices and to save the Banks from getting cheated.

She is no more working in the address you have,
