HDFC Credit Card Division — Harassment by HDFC Customer care executive
This is with regard to my credit card # 4346 7810 0224 7575. I have been holding this card for more than 3 years. The repayment towards my card has been very prompt since then; however, due to some medical expenses that I had to incur of the last 2 months January and February 2009, I failed to make the payment on time. I even called HDFC customer care to explain this and the person on the other end acknowledged the same and confirmed that I could make the lump payment for two months by End of March. Today, I received a call from HDFC Customer care again (Deepa) who was utmost rude on call and demanded the payment today itself (06 Mar 2009). I also told her that I would not be able to make the payment today and shall arrange the payment by tomorrow and walk-in-to the branch and make the cash payment of the said amount (Rs.2000). She did not listen and was very harsh to me. I also told her that I would be complaining to RBI if she continues to talk this way and she was least bothered about it. She said " I don't care, you could complain to anyone you wish to" (these were the exact words used by her). I'm totally taken aback by the way these people from the bank treat their customers. I would sincerely appeal to whomsoever to look into this as I'm a BP Patient and such calls really disturb my mental stability. I would not hesitate to blame the bank for any mishap that I face due to rising level in my pressure.
There have been couple of other people too to add to the list. One of them is Anil Anandan from Bangalore branch of HDFC.
Please do something as I strongly feel that this is affecting my mental health. I wish to re-iterate here that most of the call center people from HDFC (collections) are not maintaining the standards when it comes to customer service.
