[Resolved]  HMWS&SB — Worms in the water

For the last 2 to 3 months we rae getting water with thread like worms from our taps. I have complained ( Tel. No. 155313 ) to the authorities who promised to visit our house and look into the complaint. Even though I am in constant touch with call centre nobody came to our house and saw the problem. We rae conserned about our health, hence we request for an early solution.

we are the residents of the Sam Sundar Nagar, Street No.13, Bagh Amberpet, Hyderabad-13 and we are also victim of the same the hmws launched prestigious complaints booking through SMS to 5676729 to resolve the issues several times i tried to avail the same but i got message that "sorry we could not process your request, please correct your message and try again" it is not user friend. complaint booking by "1916" no use at all. the complaints booking M.C.C - Complaints web address: "http://www.hyderabadwater.gov.in/Complaints/default.asp" never works. giving complaint by speed post who cares. all eye wash. recent past the Hon'ble Human Rights Commission interfered and directed the authorities take necessary steps to resolve the issue. when quality of life effects, or depriving the lives or rights of the public then the citizens can move the issue before the judiciary. but we cannot expect every citizens knock the doors of judiciary and they are very much afraid too ... when rights effected only judiciary suo moto take action or organizations take steps to prevent the wrong we hope the issues will resolve soon and save the lives of the public ...

The HMWSSB held a Praja Vaani program on Monday. 23rd Aug, 2010: As many as 101 of the 161 complaints received by the Hyderabad Metropolitan Water Supply and Sewerage Board were resolved on the spot during the 'Praja Vaani' program held on Monday. According to HMWSSB Managing Director M Jagadeeshwar (IAS), the main objective of the Praja Vaani programme is to facilitate direct interaction between consumers and top management so that grievances can be redressed at the earliest. A total of 161 complaints were received at the Khairatabad Board Office from all parts of GHMC areas, including Asmangadh, Erragadda, Shapurnagar, Malkajgiri, Marredpally, Bhoiguda, LB Nagar, Mallepally and Gode-Ki-Khabar. Jagadeeshwar said that 101 of the 161 complaints received were resolved on the spot, at Khairatabad. He said that most of the complaints were regarding billing disputes, onetime settlement, new water connections, change of name, metering disputes, and drainage problems. The MD said that the Praja Vaani program is now being organized in all operation and maintenance divisions for the convenience of the public. A senior officer in the cadre of Director / Chief General Manager (E) attended the Praja Vaani Programme along with the General Manager (E) of the O&M Division concerned. Apart from at the Board Office, several complaints were received at each division office as well.
HMWSSB launches SMS facility to lodge complaint

HYDERABAD: To ensure better customer interaction and feedback on services provided by it, HMWSSB has introduced SMS complaining facility and Customer Relations Management (CRM) centres in the city.
Customers can now lodge their complaints by sending a text message to 5676729 in the following format: HMW <space> customer number <space> Complaint. The complaint should not exceed 160 characters and once received by database; it is forwarded to the manager of the concerned division and also generates a unique token number which is forwarded to the customer. After the complaint is rectified, customer is notified by an SMS. The first CRM centre was inaugurated by the Minister for Backward Class Welfare, M. Mukesh Goud at Narayanguda reservoir premises here on Tuesday. Three more such centres at Kukatpally, L.B.Nagar and Adikmet will begin operations shortly, informed G. Ashok Kumar, Managing Director of HMWSSB. Complaints and queries relating to billing ambiguities, new connections, tanker booking, drainage problems, water leakages, and other water supply and sewerage related problems can be lodged personally at these centres.
