an educational institution making business (ICFAI) - Student

To the educational dept,

this is to inform you as there is and affiliated institution which allows to join huge number of students to join for MBA programs and collect ransom as fees and if the student is unable to study and wanted to discontinue they order to pay the entire fee and leave. this procedure is more like a business than educational services if that is the case each and every person can start a institution and make money out of it and young generation will have no opportunity please try to take some actions regarding it, and more over they give lot of mental tensions to the persons who wants to quit from the course. please take some serious action.

Anuraj!

It’s totally misleading to claim that pass percentage required is 65%. It is 55% for professional programs and 45% for Graduate/Post graduate programs. Use the blog for true representation of problem and not misleading ones. Pls.

Hallo everybody,

Do you think Icfai gives education to students?

IF yes - Wrong, It sucks blood of innocent people rather poor parents.

Strategical planning of Icfai: How to exploit the Distance learning MBA students.

1. Marketing executives are highly paid and well trained how to attract the students by any means, example- today is the last day or yesterday was last but I will manage it, do not worry, your admission will be in back date. A lot of cock & bull stories they will say, as they have been trained by the Adm staff of Icfai. Incentives of Marketing people are direct 20%. Even they used to pay initially for you Rs10000/-.( But behind this master mind works- to catch hold the student) Ready cash university pays to marketing people to do such drama while attracting the students.

2. Icfai wants students like-take admission, pay the money, pay the PDC cheques, forget after wards.

3. Take admission. Appear the first semistar . Pass it any how . Find maximum 99% passing the exam.
See the drama from second semistar. Carry on failing. Register by paying Rs1000/-. Get yourself failed.
If students will pass then where from the income will come? Every University has Two semistars, but this fake University has Four semistars, reason behind, to extract money from the students. If some one workout properly, then will come to know.
If University has 2, 80, 000 students, roughly minimum 1, 00, 000 register in each semister by payingRs1000/-.
Rs1000 X 1, 00, 000 =10, 00, 00, 000 (Ten Crores) X 4 Semistars = 40, 00, 00, 000 ( Forty Crores)
This much amount is verry attractive. But originally the income is more .
So if the students will pass then how the income will generate. Students take admission to increase the funds of University not to build the career. How the mastermind warks to suck the blood of poors.

4. Purposefully the students will be declared pass in 1St semistar, then drama starts of failing. But University declares as It gives quality studies so result is less. But this is an eye wash only. once they don't have studies, how one will expect result.you will find your result always 43 or47 or 45 or 41 like that, just below passing mark.

5. The fake University has a verry good fraud plans, which the students experience in due course. Only money money.

The sources have been extracted from some Ex-employs of the University who some time repent for their misdids of past while working for the fake University. These people should be behind the bars.

Mr. Anurag,

I am a student myself and able to complete first 4 groups, nw registered for Group E, as per your conception nobody will pass exams, but you can see in this forum itself so many students cleared Group B, Group C or somebody are in electives and even there are lots of student completed the course. The PDC facility is very convenient for middle class working peoples like me. About your calculation of exams fees, I am not sure that 1 lack students will register for the exams, the actual count may be less and I know that undergraduates exam fee is around Rs. 300/-, if we look at your calculation it leads no where near to fact. So, do not get into false assumptions and stop misguiding the students.

i say only one fact...ICFAI is fake its money oriented and not pass oriented...

Hi All,

I myself am finding it very difficult to clear one subject in the second semester. Allthough i have cleared the third semester. (Group C). I have paid the fees Rs 1000 nearly 4 or 5 times, only not to attend the exam or attend and fail in that. But i dont think its a fraud. I think there is either a lack of preparation on my part or the paper is too tough. But i cannot do anything as i find that my work consumes too much of time and i have hardly enough time to study.

There is some amount of mis management though. And the course materials are not all that great. There is too much of blunders and goof ups in the course material. Its confusing some times.

With regards to the exams coming in every 3 months, i think thats very good for us working professionals. It makes it convenient to take the exams. Also the exams always fall on sundays which is good. I dont have to haggle with my manager for leave to write exams.

Amit,
Why should any one fail the students with a peanut exam fee. They can as well enroll more by passing more. I think the logic is to ensure quality, so that when students get good jobs they enjoy.

I am sure majority of the bloggers are repeat failure cases. The standards are definitely tough and procedures stricter. Failures should make us intensify efforts to upgrade our knowledge. Go ahead and prepare well for ensuing exams.

To all the comentators on this blog...
I totally disagree with ur complaints against the university.

First of all...if u were so bothered about ur carrer and ur class education, i think u would have worked hard to study better and get urself admitted to top B- schools. People enroll for distance learning due to various factors- job, family etc..which does not permit u to enroll in full time colleges.
I am doing my MBA with ICFAI. I completed 3 groups ie A, B and C all of which i secured first class ie above 60% aggregate. Group A & C in the first attempts...B in the second attempt..that too blame is on me for not preparing for the exam at all...i was too occupied in my work and i fell ill to in between.

If u haven't been reading the instructions and newsletters properly let me educate you:

1. The pass percentage is 55% aggregate in one subject. Eg.: Read carefully : Business economics : split into 2 papers 3 hrs each. Paper I and paper II. u score minimum of 55 marks in paper I and min 55 marks in paper II - then aggregate calculated as (55+55)/2 = 110/2 = 55% . If u read the manual carefully u'll also understand that the min mark required to pass in one paper ( not subject) is 45 marks or % . In that case you will have to score at least 65% in the second Paper of that subject. ie. with ref. to the above example...if i score 45 marks in paper I of buss. econ. ...i must score 65 marks in paper II of buss. econ so that the aggregrate becomes : ( 45 + 65 ) /2 = 110/2 = 55 %.

2. No university will repay any amount for not completing the course properly. Once u enroll in a program or course, it is ur responsibility to prepare well for the exams . If u fail to to do so..no university in India or abroad gives u back the money.

3. Exams: It is totally ur fault if u pay exam fees and not attend or prepare for it well. if u r not prepared dont register for the exam..write it the next time..so u dont waste money and energy.

4. Payment and information: the university has been very prompt in all the information provided to the students. Be it Exam dates, fees, proof of ur payment ( go the website..log in to ur student account - access ur info on SSD there is a link for that) . It gives u all the details regarding ur payment and courseware dispatch. the exams are on time and the results too are on time.

5. The most important point : My friends. The ICFAI Business school, Hyderabad, is ranked among the top B- schools in India. The courseware for ICFAI- even distant learning is conceptualised in such a way so that they bring out the best mangers for the future. I repeat " Managers". You must understand..this is a post graduate course and nothing comes easily. If u have done ur research well, u'll know that the fees for the course is compatible with fees in other B-schools. Also if u are here just for the sake of getting an MBA, then please leave. then no doubt u'll end up losing all the money and time. I agree anyone can enroll for the program and so people who never got the chance of being educated in good institutions can also have a chance to study .. But what matters is how many of u complete the journey through MBA seriously. No "tom dick and harry" can become a manager just like that. ICFAI aims at nurturing the best managers possible. It is tough and it requires proper time management and continuous hard work. I repeat " Hard Work". Let me remind u- u get text books, guide, work book and CD in each subject- correct? the guide and CD has almost the same details. and workbook is a collection of all Questions in the "quiz" section of each chapter in ur CD. There are articles and reading material provided. How many of u have even spent one hour daily in reading all these? IF u spend just 1 hr in going thru ur textbook and just 1 chapter a day- with a little hard work u can score in the first attempt easy.

It is indeed a pity to read all these useless comments by people who have not taken their studies, value of money and time seriously. I am an advertising executive- marketing in media, have work exp. of about 4 years, i'm married. If for me managing my career daily from 9 am - 6 pm and then my house chores in the evening, and still score well...It is called determination and hard work ..which u require to be an MBA graduate.

So please stop arguing and go thru the manual and courseware properly. Or else sincere advice is to not waste ur precious energy.
Thank you.

To all the people who things that ICFAI is money making university.

I totally disagree ICFAI is there only to make money.

I am MBA student of ICFAI distance education & wrote final exam (Group J). I have successfully passed the groups in first attempt. It doesn't mean it is easy to pass but it require lot of determination, effort & focus without which it is impossible to clear the exams.

Generally people voice against the ICFAI fees, syllabus etc when they stuck & unable to clear the exam. What ICFAI provide study material is very well comparable with any top class university in the world. it's syllabus is vast & up to date with current market, this is because one coming out of ICFAI is future managers who needs to lead organizational.

Then Why people fail to clear the ICFAI exam??

Generally people think, enroll to MBA course put some last minits effort & get through - This is very good way to fail. You can't prepare just like you prepare for any other exams, there should be some kind of winning strategy.

SIX steps to success

1. Assess your grasping power – This you can check by reading one chapter and answer the work book questions for that chapter, if you feel you are not up to the mark, then go to the text book & read it twice or trice.
2. Plan the reading – After assessing you know how much time is required to complete one chapter, now calculate hrs accordingly to complete the whole book.
3. Set the target – To complete the book, set the target how much need to complete in one day considering how much time available to your exam.
4. Implementation – No mater what you do (when you get up or how you take out your time to study) you should complete at least 80% of your target. Then you have good chances of completing & understanding the basic concept in the book.
5. Reviewing – Only completing the reading will not assure you the success, what you need to do is, down load the model question paper from the ICFAI website or from work book & write it as you are writing a real exam & complete it with in 3 hrs. now put the marks yourself looking at the suggested answers section. If you got good score repeat it with other model paper, if you are not able to score good numbers then go the text book to read the relevant topic for which you got it wrong.
6. Concept focus – Finally when you are nearing to exam, read the content focusing more on concept so that you can answer to any type of twisted questions.

I have followed these steps to success, every day I spent 4 hrs.
I am working in the reputed company & also need to take care of my family, only managing time is the key to success.

Hope this is helpful, if any one need to any help from side please let me know.

Regards
Sathish

I am sure these people who are favoring ICFAI are the paid porters of ICFAI university bloody damn propaganda machinery really. i appeared 3 times for group j first 2 times i studied and prepared but they didn't cleared me for unknown reason then I lost my interest and really just casually appeared for j this time they passed me, it is clear that it doesn’t matter what you wrote in your papers but the willingness of university. This damn university is a manipulative and malicious organization.

i can also further elaborate that some times it is really on part of student those who did not study and failed it is okay, but a guy like me who cleared all its objective papers with more than 70 marks in almost each paper not able to clear last groups with same effort really makes you smell a foul.

Dear All
I fully agree with veena & satish it is difficult to clear exams from ICFAI but it doesnt mean that they do it purposfully.
All those who says they didnt know why icfai gave them less marks are not even aware that in ICFAI u can go for recouting & complete feedback on your paper, within 7 days of your result.

The feedback they provide is very good and i personnaly got benefitted from it in group H.
