I got the Policy while I was in India. Being an NRI, I should have received the welcome kit via email from which my free-look time should have started. I emailed Prulife that I have not received it yet. I was told that it has been sent to the address in India,where I stayed for sometime while visiting India this March 2012. But anyway they sent me a e-copy which is just a receipt of payments etc.
I sent the cancellation request with all the documents within 15 days of my getting e-copy. They refused as they counted free-look from the time it was sent to India. I also filed with Grievance redressal officer but they refused to cancel. They told me that they also emailed me a copy. I never had that email account. I asked my relatives in India to look into the paper copy to see what email address was there. Found out that the agent had justed concocted the address. I asked them to scan and e-send me the whole application. That is where I found out that the signatures are not mine on the places for policy holders signatures. None of the details filled are in my hand .
What sort of legal help I can get in this case. Do I file with Consumer court , if yes, do I have to file in a special jurisdiction .
