[Resolved] Indian Railways — Charging of higher rates in various products
I was traveling from from NDLS to BBS on 9/03/2011 vide PNR No.[protected] in SL class, Coach No.S-9. I observed that the hawkers and IRCTC workers charge higher rate in soft drinks, buttermilk and sweet curd packets. One hawker charged OMFED buttermilk Rs10 and OMFED sweet curd RS12, where as the true market prices are Rs5 and Rs7 respectively. To name a hawker putting on IRCTC badge and name plate as H. Mohanta charged Rs25 for a soft drink ,'Mountain dew" in which the maximum retail price was written as Rs22.When I complained in response he said that he had to bribe many railway employees in order to sell in the train. So he refused to sell at the MRP price. Again the employees in the Duronto Express collected money from the passengers in the name of tips at the end of the journey.( I traveled from BBS to NDLS by 12281,on 06/03/2011.) Please enquire into the matter take appropriate steps in order to remove such irregularities. Was this information helpful?
