[Resolved]  Karbonn K570 — Defective Karbonn K570 dual sim touchscreen mobile sent by Homeshop18

I purchased a Karbonn K570 mobile from Homeshop18 vide order no[protected] on 17th March 2011 and the handset was delivered promptly on 21st march 2011.
On receiving the handset I observed that the date of import was Jan 2010 that is more than 1 year old. I also found that the audio quality was poor , there was no call volume control and WAP was not working.
I found the address of Karbonn service centre in Jayanagar 4th T block, Bangalore and went there with the handset. They looked at it and said I have to send it to Delhi for repair as it was despatched from there. I tried to reason with them that any service centre in India should service the handset but they refused. They gave the number of Karbonn office in Indranagar ( ) which no one picks. I also tried their toll free number given on the box ie [protected] which is barred and email id [protected]@karbonnmobiles.com which does not exist.
As I was stuck with a defective handset, I called HOMESHOP18 and told them above story and requested them for the 15day money back guarantee which they advertise so heavily on TV and on their website. They said first let our troubleshooting team try to help then we will see what to do.
Their trouble shooting team was also not able to help me on the audio quality and WAP issues. Again I requested for money back or give different handset, the HS18 person informed me that since I had inserted the SIM card in the handset, they cannot take it back. How does one check a mobile without the SIM!
CONCLUSION
1. HOMESHOP18 AND KARBONN MOBILES ARE SELLING NON MOVING DEFECTIVE HANDSETS IN THE MARKET AND MAKING INDIAN CONSUMER BUY IT
2. KARBONN MOBILES DO NOT HAVE ANY PROPER SERVICE CENTRES OR CUSTOMER CARE
Can someone from HS18 or Karbonn help me in this matter.

Hi

Wanted to update that Homeshop 18 has resolved the issue by replacing my defective Karbonn handset with a different model and make after I paid the differential amount.

Can't say the same about the response of Karbonn, till now no one bothered to contact me.
