[Resolved] KINGSTON 32 GB PEN DRIVE — IT'S A FAKE PEN DRIVE. | |
I HAVE BOUGHT KINGSTON 32 GB PEN DRIVE FROM UNKNOWN PERSON, WHEN I BOUGHT IT, I JUST CHECKED ITS CAPACITY WHICH WAS SHOWING PERFECT, BUT AFTER A USE WHAT I KNEW... 1. The data in the pendrive got corrupted due to bad sectors. 2. On coping pictures I found out that only till 512MB of data was intact, the rest got corrupted. 3. Formatting the Pendrive was of no use. 4. I tried using windows Disk Check utility to see whether the bad sectors could be recovered but the program used to hang on initiating it. 5. On opening the pendrive I saw the PCB was in a pretty bad condition. 6. Only a 512MB RAM Chip was used in the PCB. I AM NOT ONLY THE PERSON FACING THIS PROBLEM, LOTS OF PEOPLES FACING THE SAME PROBLEM... NOW TO WHOM I CAN GIVE THE COMPLAIN FOR THIS CHEATING HAPPENED WITH ME... my name is hemant.even i am facing the same problem.i mean i too have 32gb pendrive of kingston.me data got corrupted.and it shows in some other language.now i believe that kingston has to take te responsibility of this.plss do the needful.

The same is happening here in Hyd. Lost 400 bucks for nothing. We all are so gullible when we hear the words like "Free", and "Cheap".

i bought a 8GB pen drive of kingston on 01/12/2009 from manchanda radio company, lajpat rai market, delhi in front of the red fort.when i copy something from one computer, i cannot use it in another computer as the file gets corrupted.can you help me .if possible i want to replace my pen drive with a new one as it is under 5 year warranty.

yes ! it true there so many heater around our surroundings bewaaaaare of that cheater .reacently i found the person selling the 32 gb pendrive for 1000 .but he asked me to buy . i asked sme questions regarding .hhe said its working and will show the capacity of it. i said i dnt have a money .so he offered the price .i asked for 300rs he was agreed .and agin i changed my mind ./so plz be aware of it . and these people will find near shopping complex of systems .be careful
format the pendrive in LINUX; it will work fine...

Yes this guys are fake.. thanks to this posting i saved myself from becoming a bakra.. but the guy slipped :( before i was able to catch him..
Hii alll... i hav also done the same mistake.. A 32 gb pendrive which shows that much capacity but it is of no use. I think it is a 32 kb. After copying the files i can't see the files then i formatted which results into a pendrive with 0kb capacity.. M gona kill that guy from whom i purchasd if i meet him somewhere unfortunately... Kingston should take some steps against this to stop dealers cheating uss...

I bought 32 GB pendrive from a man outside my office in Gurgaon on 17th February 2010. He asked for Rs. 1100 and I negotiated successfully for Rs. 500. When I checked it, I could copy only 1 GB of data. Hope the company Kingston takes action against these fake pen drives.
