i dont understand what is wrong with MTNL TRIBAND billing system. inspite of less usage the system produces unexpected bill.. we have complaint for it n number of times. the month we complaint and its following months it shows norminal bill again after 2 to 3 months the same huge bill and to my surprise the usage reading also shows the download when the computer is switch off this came to the notice when i realise that the download that it is showing is the time when there is no electricity and the computer is shut. as i do not even have an usp to keep it working. there really needs to check out what the problem is all about

Mtnl-triband — Cheating
Dear Sir,I had taken Internet Connection on 26th Jan 09, they told me that download means saving any matter on the computer initally. But whaen I checked my account they have accounted even for the surfing done, the total download shown was approx 1400MB in 5 days. When I checked with the service engineer Mr Darji Tel.ph no. [protected] He says that once we start the net any file u open is accounted as download which is ridiculous. I checked with my friend in Vashi having the same connection there download means the data saved from the net on one's computer.Can anyone explain me what is Download according to Mtnl

u are right.there is no. o[censored]nauthorized usage of broadband connection in mtnl and especially if it is new connection.and i[censored] report mtnl officials will turn deaf ears which shows their involvment.
i was given modem which was not mtnl stamped and later they were refusing to take it back.
my usage details shows 64 mb usage in just 36 mints.
later i found the solutions.
after taking connection first thing u should do is:
lock ur telephone by using dynamic locing facilty
124 (code) (code)
code is 4 digit u want to keep
all calls lock 123 code 4
open 123 code 1/0
second change modem password which is by default ur ca no.
go to register.mtnldelhi.in
then open ur 192.168.1.1 for delhi which is modem configuration and change the password with same as register.mtnl.in
also change password at view bill segment of mtnl web site.
I HOPE EVERYONE SHOULD DO THIS AND STOP UNAUTHORISED USAGE BY MTNL OFFICIALS.

MTNL Triband Inet connection — Over Charge for usage
The bill for september month is atociously High while it has to be only 10% of what it is showing. I am sure It can not be this much.This is my third month going since i started on this service. For the first month also bill was too much but still since we were unaware for the details of the connection i paid the bill but this month bill is even almost 180% of my first month bill.

I've written mails to Mtnl over this.
No response. They however did admit that that are deliberately shutting of the Internet every 6 hours for 3-8 mins. I fail to see a logic behind this except to discourage unlimited plans.
There is no question of excess usage if the plan is unlimited.
Data package plan users Donot face this issue.
This techinal constitutes denial of service for which we are getting charged.
