I am from bangalore and works in mnc company.
Yday night coming late from office. Police stopped me outside my house.
They started speaking kannada and i replied in english. I understand kannada but cant speak.
On this they asked me where r you from. I sqid "india ". They again asked which village I told them U. P.
On which they said you north indian comes to bangalore and do job and creates problem for us south indians.
He started abusing north indian and my objection he tried raising his hand which i twisted and pushed him.
Other of his colleagues came out of jeep and took my bike along with them. And started asking for papers of bike and other irrevlevant documents. Even after providing all they dint let me go
And had asked 2800 Rs.
What a nusense is bangalore police is.

I own a Maruti Omni... I was travelling to Bangalore on 12-Apr-13 from Howrah. My train was at 4:10 PM. My driver came to drop me to Railway station on the way back home police stopped the vehicle and said the vehicle is on rent and its unauthorized. He asked for the documents and he was demanding money. To which the driver denied and called me. I spoke to the sergeant and he said driver do not have authorization letter to drive my vehicle. I had given them an authorization letter as per the format prescribed. Even that is not enough as it do not have stamp of the court. He has issued a challan of Rs. 350 which needs to be paid. I am attaching the Case file given to the driver.

In free India we are not free and the people governing us are all corrupt. Most of the people do not want to be in trouble so they pay these police officers which make their own law and victimize the common people.

I would like to know..

1. if you own a vehicle.. is it mandatory that you need to drive it?
2. If your family members need to use your vehicle to go somewhere do they need an authorization from court?
3. Why do we need to pay these police officers even after we have all the documents?

West Bengal has become a place full of .. no development and people are being made to suffer in the name of rules. Can anyone tell me why are rules made?? Is it for the convenience of common people or to torture them.

Hi,
Even I faced a problem yesterday, when a policeman (traffic, I think) dashed his motorcycle on my car from behind, when i was stopping at a signal as it had turned to Yellow from Green. this happened during late evening, when I was going home from office.
My car bumper got damaged but not a much cost is involved, so that's OK. But the behavior of this person annoyed & irritated me.
He first told me (in a rough language) that it was my mistake, I should have checked in rearview mirror before applying my brakes, when I told him it was already Yellow, he told me I could have crossed before it got Red. Now, JUST THINK FRIENDS, WHO IS TRYING TO VIOLATE THE RULES ME OF THE POLICE, WHO ARE GUARDS OF LAW & ORDER.

He asked me to park the vehicle & come out. it was raining, but I did so. Then he asked for my driving license, vehicle papers. I asked for his ID card, which irked him & he threatened me for asking his card & said, I can challan you for anything. While arguing with him this, i recd. a call. I took that call. he told me this was a traffic violation. I told him, I was not driving, when I took the call & was out of car. (I never take a call, while driving). But he was very arrogant, he told me he can get my licensed cancelled. he said he is doing me a favor & asked for something, so that I can leave. I finally left without listening to him as i was not even sure, whether he was a policeman & was authorised to challan me, or was he off-duty or on-duty.

But, my query is whether they have got an ID card & how to protect ourselves against the corrupt policemen.
Can we ask for ID card or it's a violation of their right to right of duty.
Who of all those traffic policemen (designation) is authorised to challan ? I had read somewhere that not all of them can do so & they can do so only in the area
Can they challan, even when they are off-duty ?

Why should I pay 500 to police for a lost certificate (NSC). I had lost my NSC issued by post office, and I was asked by the post master to get a Lost certificate from the police. On 21-Jul-13, I went to the police station, Santoshnagar, Hyderabad, with complaint. The staff was more interested in knowing the value of NSC, I gave the written request for issuing the lost-certificate, was made to wait 2 hours before being asked to come back next working day. As I was out of station I asked my father to follow up. For a week he was visiting the police station but he was turned away repeatedly. Next week I was told that the application has been lost and I need to give fresh request, which I gave on 28-Jul-13. Yesterday(06-Aug-13), my father collected the same, and paid INR 500. This shows apathy, lack of efficiency (for delay), lack of accountability(i had to file application twice & did not receive any ack) and corruption.

I cannot recollect the name of officer, as he did not introduce himself.

Larger question:- Do I need to have influence and power to get things done in straight manner?

my name is DEEWAKAR KUMAR. I AM CIZITEN OF VIKAS KUNJ VIKAS NAGAR.
i went to police station yesterday. I and my friend were setting out side of the police station. when we tried to enter in P.S. then constable stop us.
they started abusing and threat us. and after that we were waiting that after some time we will enter in P.S. but in mean while one police office come
out side and started to beat my friend. He started abusing and he raised his hand . and in end we come to know he beat him becaouse my friends was setting
on his bike.

The responsibility of the police is to respect and protect innocent civilians.Neither to abuse them or Show them their power.

So I would like to report an accident that occurred while at police station between 9 pm and 12:30pm on sunday, 03/04/2016
I hope that the Police will consider even this small offense seriously. And will puinish the Real Culprits.

I hope constable will tought & punished how to behave with civilians.
