[Resolved] Reliance Communications — cheating in the guise of providing ringtones | |
Mobile phone is indeed a boon to everone; but, alas it has been the same for cheaters too. I own a relaince handset (cell no. [protected]). Nearly three months back, I received a message from 52345 asking if want to use a ringtone Yem aindhi Ee vela Code 525491 costing Rs 15. I did not opt. Yet after a day or two I got a message that I opted for the ringtone 525491. Rs 15 was deducted as onetime charge; besides, everyday a rupee was deducted for the same. Still I did not bother much. But the deal ended in February, 2008. A fresh reminder was made to which I never consented. But I got the message that I opted for it and it has been recorded in my handset. Is it not open cheating? I am a Professor of a University; if a literate person like me meets this kind of cheatng, then what about a common man i.e. 'am admi'? Besides, everyday day, we receive tens of business calls most of whch are simlpe cheats. Can't the Govt or DOT, Govt of India or TRAI help me and many like me who are being cheated. D. K. Sarkar. M.
