[Resolved]  Reliance General Insurance — Delay in Motor Insurance Claim

My santro car which is insured with Reliance General Insurance under policy no-[protected] caught fire on 1st may 2010 around 10 P.M.
I parked my car outside my flat and After some time we heard people noise and when we checked outside from our balcony our car was burning from inside and suddenly driver side window exploded and which resulted complete car on fire.
Our neighbors and we informed police but till that time complete car got burnt.

I launched my claim on 2nd may 2010 with claim number [protected] around 1.10 P.M and was told that spot surveyor will visit my home for inspection in 5 hours.

After that i am continuously following with Reliance call center and every time i have been told that someone will visit in next 5 hours.
I launched my claim on 2nd may and next Day after repeated reminders to Call center Surveyor was assigned to my claim I had submitted all documents to Mr. BALVINDER SINGH CHEEMA on 14th may and was told that as car is burnt completely and repair cost is more than car value and it will go in total lose.

I submitted following documents as request by Mr Cheema

1.RC copy
2.License Copy
3.Police report
4.Fire Bridge Report
5.Insurance Policy Copy
6.Claim form
7.Estimate from work shop for repairs

Then I got an SMS on 25th May that Pakhi Risk Evaluators are assigned as Investigation Survey but no one contacted me.

I called them on 28th May around 12.48 P.M and they were asking for Documents again.

I called Reliance call center on 28th May around 8.55P.M and Person was telling me as I did not signed repair voucher Claim is pending but then call disconnected and when I tried again it was 9.02 P.M so call center was closed.

Then Investigator surveyor Visited my place and asked all documents again along with following
• My Statement
• Salary Slip
• Form 16
• Statement of Loan account.
I handed over everything to him and then no one contacted me.

I wrote to RGIL Following email

i am writing again after 7 days as i was following with call center, surviour and investigator.
But end of that is again misleading answers.
Call center says your fill is under processing and pending with documents and investigation report.
When i contacted mr cheema ,he says all documents are being sent to insurance agengcy and file is closed.
Investigator says i had sent documents long back.
Today i called call center again and after repeated request he gave me number of claim dept and asked me to contact mr.ankit.
After continous calling for one hour i got a call back and ankit gave me answer he will look into this and will come back.
I have been getting this answer from last 2 months but nothing is happening and no body is telling me right status.
let me know if your team can help me or i need to esclate it or look for alternative forums like consumer court.
Looking forward for early respone and resolution on this

But got same response that we are Looking into this and it has been escalated.
But no success on claim settlement.

I am following with Call center Survivor etc but no Response.
Call center gave me Claim dept number and asked me to call there but no one picks phone.
I wrote to Relaince services again
it seems to me that reliance does not want to settle my claim and just want to delay it for ever.
Response i am getting from claim dept is highly un professional as first they don't pick the phone and if picks then keep on transfering to one another and no one tells what happening.
Now one more thing happened Mr. Cheema surveyor called and asked me for original invoice of car.
When reliance did insurance they did not asked for it and now when its time to settle claim they are asking all documents.
I would like to know why it is required it is not part of claim requirement documents.
It has been more than 2 months time i launched my claim and still it is un settled.
This is adding too much of harassment to me and as a result i am not able to concentrate on my work.
As mentioned earlier also i would like to have early response and resolution to my claim.
