[Resolved]  SBT — Charging commission for local transfer of Matured FD

Sir,
The following fixed deposits matured on 07-08-09 were closed on 18-08-09 and transferred the amount to Canara Bank Tiruvalla in connection with a loan from Canara Bank.

A/c No–[protected] -Jolly K Mathew & K M Mathew- MV Rs. 2,20,225/-
A/c No– [protected]-Jolly K Mathew & K M Mathew- MV Rs. 1,65,168/-

The total amount due as on 07-08-09 was Rs. 385393.00. The amount transferred is only 218972+164142= Rs. 383114/- Later the amount credited to SB a/c [protected] is Rs. 1319/- Thus the amount recovered is Rs. 960/- This amount is understood as recovered towards the commission of DD charge while transfer. The action of the bank is quite unreasonable since the transfer is to the same station. The interest as allowed for the extended period 07-08-09 to 18-08-09 was also not paid.

I have requested several times to look into the matter and credit the amount so recovered as above via DD/Pay Order charge and interest for the spill over period to my SB a/c [protected] and inform the fact by the reference cited. But the bank is not caring even to respond to my representation. This is highly objectionable and hence the matter will be taken up at higher levels and further dealings regarding the present and future deposits with the bank will be restricted, if the matter is not settled amicably within a week positively (by[protected].
