[Resolved] Sharekhan — Wrongly charging for no service | |||
Hello, ShareKhan is following the practice of having a user automatically being moved into the paid service from trial, as a means of auto-renew. As a practice followed by ethical internet companies, options should be opt-in rather than opt-out, so a user should be asked whether he wants to use a service beyond trail rather than moving him into the service directly. This is the practice they follow for FortuneFinder, which as such I did not find of any use. But since I did not un-subscribe while in trial, I was moved to the paid service. I received a SMS to that effect on 8:15am of the date from which paid service was started and I unsubscribed by 8:18am, they still are adamant to charge for the next month, even though I am not using the service at all. I have requested them kindly for refund on customer service via phone and email. SO I am paying for service which they do not provide and anyway it is useless service (FortuneFinder) A note of caution to all - 1. Do not subscribe to their value added service, as they are mostly not of much value anyway, and you may inadvertently happen to pay out more. 2. As such there trading platform is quite buggy and not responsive, so be sure to try it out that it works for you before using it. 3. Couple of times there interface just stopped working during working hours. 4. If you are not on Windows, but on Linux or Mac strongly suggest use other trading platforms and not ShareKhan. 5. Despite there purported super- tips which they advertise, I do not seem to get any such calls from them, either by SMS, mail or trading terminal. They seem to have made teh SMS option as paid option although at time of taking the account this was not told to me Hope at some time Indian companies start getting serious about ethical nature of business on internet and not taking them for ride. Do have the OPT_IN option rather than OPT_OUT option. Otherwise you will keep getting mails like these. Rgds, Was this information helpful? | |||
