dr sir my complaint is that my cibil data is destroyed by satandard charted bank and levied me unnecessary intrest and late payment charges on illegal amount levied by friend finder .com without my consent also i have paid the amount still standard charted have not cleared my cibil data and not given me no dues certificate plz take necessary action Was this information helpful? | |||

As per RBI rules any account which has no transaction for more than 3 years is declared dormant and in case of credit cards it would already be written off by the bank - the call you got must be from collection agency - tell them to do whatever they want to.
They cannot do anything - There is a procedure for even filing a case for dormant account - don't panic- the only mistake you did was that you did not get the settlement letter from the bank before paying the amount- anyways now these calls are just blank threat.

I had taken a credit card from SCB in the year 2000. I had a credit limit of 20000. I had used the card for a year. As i was not in a good money paying job i could not pay the payment in time and it went to the collection department, for a few months i have maintained paying the minimum and one fine day i got a settlement deal from the AGENT and gave the amount and had it closed. Now i am working in UAE. After 8 years i got a call on my mobile, saying that i have a due of 3,80,000 and i have to pay it up immedialty in the next 2 hours else they would file a case againist me in the immegration department and have my visa cancelled and stuff like that. What i am bothered about it is, after payment in the year 2002 i guess i had called the bank and they acknowledged the payment recived and confired that its closed and i stopped getting calls from the bank about payment. How after 8 years someone would call me as a LAWYER and ask me to payup in 2 hours. I am really scared now as this would affect my career, for something which i had closed long ago. I have saved all the numbers. I asked them to send me a mail confirming the same and they not doing it. I Asked them to give me their firms name and land line number and they didnt do it. I have written to the SCB to confirm on the same and i have not got any confirmation on the same. If this is true then why didnt the back cal me from last 8 years. PLEASE HELP.
