Standard Chartered Bank — Outstanding shown in CIBIL for already closed account
Hi, Standard Chartered have reported my name in CIBIL mentioning that I have and outstanding loan of 40000+ to pay them for a Overdraft account I had operated between[protected]. The Bank offered me this facility and there has not been any instance where i have not paid the bank as required to maintain the OD account. In the year 2009 i received a letter from Standard bank that they want to withdraw the facility and hence i need to pay everything pending and close the account. I followed the instruction of the bank and paid all my dues and closed the account. But to my shock i discovered in the year 2012 that my name has been reported to CIBIL mentioning that the amount of Rs 40000+ is outstanding and i have defaulted the same. I have been running between the SCB customer and their branches to get the closure statement - But the bank has not responded. This In-spite of me being a 15 yr old customer and having a relationship till last month. Not a single communication was there which would say that there is any pending (as there was none) Somehow i have managed to dig out the Statements from my old mail which clearly shows that the account was closed and no outstanding is there. I need help to pressurize Standard chartered bank to remove my name from CIBIL and issue an apology for incorrect reporting which has negatively portrayed my rating and delayed my housing loan disbursal from another bank Was this information helpful?
