Hi, This is a complaint against Standard Chartered Manhattan Platinum card. My card was blocked due to an internal mismatch of book records within Standard Chartered (which I was notifying them for 6-7 months). When I asked to remove the block access, they asked me to pay a nominal 38 paise (yes, you heard it right) to settle the accounts. I paid the amount and waited for the unblock. Then, I was told that I need to send an application for the same. A month after sending the application (Ref. No. 05/13/053143/SP/CRD), I get a reply saying sorry we cannot unblock your card. All my savings and bonus points captured through my purchases over 1 year period is all gone now. My question is: 1. How can they not work when a customer in informing them about the mismatch but only go with an easy option of blocking the card? 2. They never informed about the blockage of card. How embarrassed would you feel if your card is returned back from merchant owing to blockage? 3. No clear guidelines on card blockage removal. When they asked me to pay money (38 paise), then it should have been unblocked. A simple mail that says "Sorry, we can't do it" is not good enough. Only if I had some power to catch hold of the accounts team, I would surely bring them to consumer court for these hassles. Was this information helpful? | |||
