Standard Chartered Credit Cards — Fraudulent Billing practice

I have used STAN CHART credit card since, 1993 and had a limit of 275,000 Rs. Its only recently that the Bank has entered into fraudulent practice. I paid all the bills without much review and trust BUT when I checked last, a systematic fraud system has been evolved within STANCHART group. And that is as below:
1.If you have multiple accounts, a single bill is raised and when settled in full on primary account, the sums are not distributed inspite requests to do so.
2.When cheque is issued in primary account, the amounts are credited to secondary card holder.

With such actions, the accounts are made irregular and charges are collected in interest form, and while the second account shall have EXCESS funds in CREDIT unaccounted.

Systematically, STANCHART had ripped me few thousands of Rs. When checked and the call centre was unresponsive and RUDE and vindictive. Inspite of written request to distribute funds in correct heads, standard chartered refused this time adjustment to state, that we should write at the back of cheque. respective heads !!

The practices are against the norms of RBI and since I am too busy, I was unable to act further. But all docs. are available to start a legal proceeding and redress at appropriate forum the issues. And RBI norms are not implemented by the Stanchart and RBI should order Audit of Banking practices adopted within Stanchart

Standard Chartered Credit Cards — Fraudulent billing

I have a SCB credit card #[protected] having the payment due date on 1st of every month. I am currently located in South America and my father is taking care of the SCB related transactions. As mentioned in the complaint I have the below concerns wrt the service being offered by SCB Credit cards division.

1. The Credit Card statement not being despatched to my mailing address. However an SMS is sent to the below contact number based on which he has dropped the cheque in the nearby drop box as suggested by the SCB Customer Care.

2. The actual statement for June as an SMS was sent asking for the payment of Rs: 560 which is already credited. But I suspect the validity pf the billed amount as we never received any statement for the same (no e-mail or a hard copy of the statement being delivered) other than the SMS.

SCB credit card #[protected]
Contact No: 91-[protected], 91-[protected]
Contact Name: Rajappa
Relationship with Card Holder: Father
Billed Amount for August: Rs:338
Payment Due Date: August 1 2008

The payment of credit bill not being recognized in time. An HDFC Cheque #471120 for the amount Rs. 338 has been dropped on July 30 th in a drop box.

However, it looks like he is still receiving SMSes for the credit card bill payment which he has already done. Also, I would like know the reason for asking me to do the same payment twice!!!

Prashanth

Standard Chartered Credit Cards — Billing inappropriately

Respected Sir/Madam,
I am N.Dhanalakshmi and I possessed a standard chartered credit card in the year 2004. I cleared all my debts in the month of December and I returned their card. In the month of January'2005 they sent a bill of Rs.2200, for which they said it was for a new credit card. I returned the card along with a letter mentioning that I do not require any more credit cards, but I kept receiving statements until the month of May. Then I spoke to the customer care and also passed on a letter to the officer demanding immediate closure of this card for which I have not applied at all. Then on I received no statements at all, except for one in which it is mentioned that your credit card has become ineffective. I have all the statements and copies of letters that I have written to the company as well. Now when I applied for a car loan they said it cannot be processed as there is a credit on your name for about 40000. I was shocked as I now do not use any credit cards and I am always very clean about my financial matters. Now they are mentally torturing me and demanding me for this lump-sum amount. I at this age(56), am suffering from such pressures for which I am not responsible at all. Kindly help me and guide me how to go about with this. When I spoke to the manager, he is now demanding for Rs.23000. Why should I pay so much? And moreover, they do not want to give a letter stating you pay so much and we shall give your "NOC". Please guide me through this.
