I have been struggling to get a high speed broadband connection from Tata communications limited. It is just turning out to be a nightmare.
I initiated an email enquiry regarding a new connection on April 5th 2012. I finally managed to get someone home to collect the documents on April 16th 2012. He stated that I needed to pay 1 months rent in advance to avoid the security deposit + installation charges.
They promised me that the connection will be provided in 3 working days. When I enquired on the 4th day, they said they were waiting for the approval for laying the fiber optic cable to my house and it should be ready in the beginning of next week.
After a couple of days, the TCL representative called me again to say that they wanted an additional payment of 1 extra month (because there is bigger infrastructure cost). Once I pay that they promised me that the connection will be available in 3 days.
Since I had already paid my first month, I agreed to pay the additional amount ( I actually paid for 4 months upfront to get 1 month service free) on April 24th.
They promised to get me the connection by April 26th. When I followed up with them, they sent a lineman to run a cable inside the house. Once he was done, they promised me that the engineer will come with the modem to set up the connection. It is been 2 days and numerous phone calls and it has not happened yet.
DO NOT pay any money upfront. This just seems to be a very bad customer service department. I must have made 30 calls to them and they never return the calls. Was this information helpful? |
Tata Communications Ltd — Regarding broadband connection
This regarding my broadband connection cancelation,due to non availability of connection in my area.And i was told that i would be refunded my balance amount , but till date i have not recieved any refund.
