TATA Indicom Photon+ — Billing Complaint

I recently bought the TATA Indicom Photon+ with the 2GB Day 10GB night plan the connection was activated on saturday and after using it for three days my connection was disconnected, when i called the customer care i was told that i have an outstanding amt of 8000.00 in my bill for three days usage, when i bought the connection i was explained i could use 2 GB in the day and 10GB in the night ( Day from 7AM to 11PM, Night 11PM to 7AM ) when they checked my usage i was informed that i staretd downloading at 10:56PM and continued throught the night, on asking them why after 11PM it did not go into the 10GB night part of my usage they could not answer me and replied that they will get back to me, when the got back finally after 2weeks they advised me very unclearly that it was because i did not log off, which is very unclear, and they also advised me that they cannot help me further with my quiery, also if it was charged during the day i was not given the 2GB free as they charge 2rs per MB and i uesd 4GB and my bill is 8000.00RS they then advised me that they had charged Pro rata for first month which was not advised on purchase, and in no documentation, could you please help me with my issue as i am now recieving repeated collection calls, for the same, and they hang up when i ask any questions .

The Photon was bought from the Kolkata Park streen office, from Agent called Sachin, PH No : [protected], and agen who i spoke to after that was Subodh, Phone no : [protected].

Tata Indicom is cheating customers in every possible way. They deliberately delay the Photon+ activation/installation so that they can charge lumpsum amount in the name of pro-rata even after offering free 10GB data for the 1st two months. No one explains you what is pro-rata and how the bill will be calculated and you get a shock when you receive the first bill. After getting a connection @ Rs.4000 and using it for only 6 days Tata Indicom has barred my connection and slapped a bill of Rs.15000 even after I used below the 10 GB limit. How can they charge for something which they are offering as free?

I've been facing the same problem what you have. Even after using 5 days nly, my connection got barred and they are telling I exeeded maximu credid limit though I didn't use that much... my is 950/- plan.
Customer care people alos unable to pull the data and explain what exactly happend.
I realy vexed with service.. i want to return the device and switch over to other vendor.

Please let me know if there is any way to get rid of that.

yes, i do agree with you...

And 1more thing is they say up to 3.1 mbps but we never get speed upto even 1mbps..
I generally used to get 150 - 200 kbps kbps only.

This is a cheating advertisement... this sud be stopped cheating customers like this.

I bought the TATA Indicom Photon+ with the 2GB Day 10GB night plan. The connection was activated and after using it for three days my connection was disconnected, when i called the customer care i was told that i have an outstanding amt of Rs. 653/- in my bill for three days usage, when i bought the connection i was explained i could use 2 GB in the day and 10GB in the night ( Day from 7AM to 11PM, Night 11PM to 7AM ). For the first time i paid the bill(outstanding bill). After paying bill I didn't got connection for that day. OK, I continued using internet around 11:15pm, i have been used <7GB at night & <1.5GB at Day time, when I was using I got a call saying that –the usage bill is Rs.3600/- which has to pay within 2hr or it get disconnect, I got shocked, even I got free download 10GB at night & 2GB at day – I got this bill. But, I paid 1500/- by cheque after 1week. Remaining amount I refused to pay. After 2 month, a person called & asked about discontinuing the usage. He said that the remaining amount will be reduced to zero so that I can continue using Photon+. I said ok. He has activated Photon+ & continued the same tariff plan. After using <1GB at day & <5GB at night, I got the bill of Rs.963/-, I paid it. But, for this month I got bill Amount Rs. 2, 289/- for using 1.5GB at day & 5GB at night. Due date is 24/12/09. So I am not going to continue the service even I have paid 3500/- for Modem. I am not going to pay bill for this time.
How can they charge after offering it as free?

The Photon+ was bought from the 8th main, Basaveshwaranagar, Bangalore-560079.

I am also facing the same problem of charging more than the usage.

I bought the TATA PHOTON+ modem(Epi Vally) in end of September 2009.
I took the night plan from 10 pm to 7 am of 500 Rs.rental(Post Paid Connection).
I had been told that surfing & downloading is free in this night plan in the above time and before 10 pm or after 7 am i will be charged 2 Rs./MB.

As I have chosen this plan I am using it in night only(that is in free time).
I have received the bill amount of 1076 Rs. for the first month.

Then I communicated with the person whom I had given the cash payment while buying the modem.
He told me to contact the customer care and also told to pay the first bill assuring me that it will not happen again.

As I contacted with them, theyredirected me to various numbers and finally saying the bill is charged according to the PRO-DATA basis.

Then I told to explain me the same, but no one had explained me what is PRO-DATA basis wasting my valuable 30 minutes with talking to various useless persons behind this customer care cell.

Then I paid the first bill of 1076 Rs at TATA INDICOM GALLERY and requested them to give me the bill details.

There also the person coordinating with me told to me that they can not give the bill details in print directly to me, rather they will e-mail it to me.
But till date I have not received the mail.

And now It's time to pay the second bill and it is genereted to 1466 Rs.(I have strictly used the internate after 10pm only)

Now I am not understanding how the bill is generated and why am I charged for using the internate in FREE time only.

Actually, while choosing the TATA(Other services are also available cheaper than TATA) I thought that why to opt for East India Company while the brand name TATA is availableon whom the all India trust.

But they have driven me into mental fatigue proving themselves another East India Company.

Will anybody look into this matter of fraud and cheating with the customers?
Are there any rules or regulations of government exists to curb such issues?

I have taken the photon+, but the problem they are not deliver even single bill to me and the y disconnected the services and if i call customer care no use.I can say in single word services are very bad and My suggestion is to all who are planing to take TATA PHOTON+ do not take.

I have purchased a TATA product Tata Photon+ last 8 month back form last 4 months i am complaining abuot this to tata careline or tata nodle officer that your connection not wroking with good speed. From last 3months it was not working and they are charging me for that i have done lot of complaint about that but there not solution form there end. My photon number [protected]

wat da hell dis photon+ is... till nw i didnt get speed more dan 100kbps nd u r saying 20times faster than normal speed... bloody hell... y u cheat customers... i[censored] wnt stop cheating immediately... and even i dint get dat 2gb free also
