I have really faced many issues ever since I purchased my tata safari. for e.g. the engine was changed , there was the starters problem, clutch sleeve cylinder was changed many times, steering radius problem and many such problems but all this problems were mechanical which could be understood.

But now this chassis problem could have been fatal for me.

A brief introduction of what happened on 22nd june, I was driving my car and suddenly my steering lost its control and dashed against a scooter, luckily nothing major happened to the person sitting on the rear seat of the scooter and he survived as the hit landed on the Stephaney tyre and not his back otherwise it could have been a fatal accident and on my part it was good that i could control my vehicle to save myself. On examining the root cause of what went wrong for steering to go out of control, it was found that the chassis was broken and the steering gearbox was ripped off. I was really shocked to know that the chassis had cracked and broken. the chassis might only break when an external body would have hit the surface with great force and the impact generated would have been so strong that it would have torn the solid metal but in my case there is no such accident the chassis broke by it self 100% manufacturing defect.

Now even wasan motors and tata motors know that this is a serious issue where it is a question of life and death. They were initially trying to resolve the matter by trying to weld the chassis, now welding the chassis would not have been a costly affair for them but they couldn't do it. Now they had to change the chassis which means they have to lift the body and assemble the whole thing to the new chassis it is as good as assembling a new car and even its a costly affair, so they came out with an excuse that my car is almost 5 years old. I am just asking them a simple question, 'what is the life of the chassis they produce if the car has not met with an accident"? I suppose they do not have an answer for this, while buying my car they claimed that on technology and safety front the Safari DICOR comes with a host of technologically advanced safety features including Anti-submarine seats and 3 stage collapsible steering column protection during a collision and the Safari has been tested and certified as per 74/297/EEC (European Regulation) with regard to protection of the driver in the event of a full frontal collision, I say where does this claim stands, I was not told that it was for only 5 years and after 5 years I have to drive on my own risk.
It should have actually so happened that on receiving my complaint they should have accepted their fault, investigate the root cause why the chassis cracked and do the required improvement in their new vehicle. I have bought my vehicle from tata motors, the name that everyone trusts. It’s a company which never compromised with their name and reputation. So please don’t let me down.

I just want them to understand the problem and do the needful.

MY VEHICLE TATA SAFARI 2.2 VTT DICOR WITH REG.NO-GJ-19-M-1855 IS IN AMBICA AUTO SALES AND SERVICE WORKSHOP AT AMBOLI,KAMREJ(SURAT)(GUJARAT) SINCE LAST 30 DAYS MY VEHICLE IS WITH AMBICA FOR SERVICE LIGHT ISSUE. & SOME TIME GETTING POOR PICKUP ANY TIME
TILL DATED WE ARE NOT GETTING ANY POSITIVE REPLY FROM THE SERVICE DEALER. SERVICE DEALER COULD NOT ATTEND MY CALL AT ANY TIME & DURING THIS PERIOD DISCUSS AT THE TATA MOTORS AREA OFFICE AHEMDABAD AND THEY ALSO NOT ENNABLE TO POSITIVE REPLAY TO ME NOW WE ARE HANDICAPPED WITHOUT MY VEHICLE & THIS FESTIVAL SEASON.PLZ GIVE ME LONER CARS FOR
I AM CONTINUOUSLY FOLLOWING THE MATTER WITH AMBICA AUTO & TATA MOTORS(AHEMDABAD). & MR.PANKAJ PATIL (SERVICE HEAD) GIVE ME VERY ROUGH ANSWER GIVE ME ON 26-09-09 AT 10.30 AM.
OTHERWISE TELL AMBICA FOR ALTERNATE ARRANGEMENT FOR VEHICLE SO THAT I CAN DO MY WORK SMOOTHLY.

Tata Motors — COMPLETE BODY IS CRACKED

I had purchased a tata sumo victa di gx on 27-11-07,but after eight month the front side of body started crack when i complained to customer care of tata motors they had repaired the cracked area but after few month same problem arises with huge crack for that i had book a case on consumer court on[protected] and my case no.is 01/2009, but till now no action had taken,even the MVI had also given report that there i so many crack in body but till now no action had tacken. please solve the problem.
Whatever the complaint posted by Mr.P Mahesh Manjereshwar could not be true one. As I have used all the models of tata as estate, crew cab, cieara, safari, Indica but no vehicle had The problem faced by Mr.Manjreshwar I recide at satara always I do ofroading but never the engine failed nor the chasis broked. The problem must be with Mr.Manjreshwar and his driving. After gap of five years again I am buying a safari I have faith on this company.

Mr Atul Shah thanks for giving your precious time and reading my complaint but sir the engine that had failed and replaced was done by tata motors themselves, this was the 3ltr engine which they had introduced in 2005 and initially they had problems, tata motors had admitted their mistake then and did the replacment, Sir you were quite lucky that anything of this kind never happened to your tata vehicles, As far as my safari is concerned i love my car, it is my dream car and even i have great respect for Mr Ratan tata and his company the tata motors.
Sir if my car by any chance would have collided with high impact to any object and had met with an accident in which i wouldn't have survived then no one would have ever known that the chassis that had broken lead to the accident.the complaint done by me is not mearly for getting a free replacment of my chassis, I am basically an engineer and have a weld shop too i could have easily weilded it at my work shop, the complaint which i did is for all o[censored]s and it includes you too brother, You should support me for this, I am fighiting for i want the company to act and see to it that all car manufactured should be tested before they reach the customer, they can't play with anyones life.
The chassis forms the main structure of the modern automobile. A large number of designs in pressed-steel frame form a skeleton on which the engine, wheels, axle assemblies, transmission, steering mechanism, brakes, and suspension members are mounted. During the manufacturing process the body is flexibly bolted to the chasis.
This combination of the body and frame performs a variety of functions. It absorbs the reactions from the movements of the engine and axle, receives the reaction forces of the wheels in acceleration and braking, absorbs aerodynamic wind forces and road shocks through the suspension, and absorbs the major energy of impact in the event of an accident
In this case its 100% manufacturing defect.
