[Resolved]  Ticket — Double Charge for a ticket

This letter is generated from a recent troubling experience I had while traveling from Quilon (Kerala) to Salem (TN) by Sabari Express. I had booked an E-Ticket for the said journey and paid rs.842 through my SBI ATM-Cum-Debit card for a seat in the Second-Tier AC compartment. The details are as follows

During the journey on being asked the ID proof by the TTR, I produced a duplicate copy of my driving license. After examining the License, I was asked to pay for a fresh ticket with penalty for the reason that I did not produce the original ID proof. In short, I had to pay twice for the same ticket for the same journey-Rs.842 for the original ticket and Rs. 1122 for the second time including penalty in spite of TTR comparing my face with that in the photo present in the ID.
At this point I would like to point out that while booking a ticket across the counter, one is not asked to produce any ID proof from the ticket holder.
Here I want to make a suggestion that in the case of an E-Ticket holder, producing a duplicate copy of an ID proof should be considered as sufficient evidence of the holder’s identity as most passengers carry only duplicates for fear of losing their original documents.
I would be much obliged if you can refund either Rs.1122 paid to the TTR or Rs. 842 paid for online booking back to me. Please consider my request and suggestion favorably.
