[Resolved]  Tradus — Delivered a damaged item

Hi,

I purchased a Videocon inverter (Transaction ID: 1056311 dated 23rd October 2010) at tradus.in, which has turned out to be a biggest mistake of my life time. I have made numerous purchases over internet and this is my first ever bitter experience with online shopping.

To start with, the product was delivered in a delayed manner and there was no proper order tracking method in place (I received the tracking information for the shipment a week after I got the delivery). It is like you place the order and then start praying for the ordered item to reach you. Infact, I was not communicated the courier tracking number till I got the delivery of the product. When the product was delivered, I was shocked to see that I was sent a damaged inverter after paying Rs.4512/- towards this purchase. When I reported this issue to the Tradus.in customer service, I was promised that the damaged product will be picked up by the courier and I will get a replacement. But their promise was not kept up and I was always kept in waiting mode. After waiting for 2 weeks and sending a number of emails to the customer care, Tradus.in customer care team asked me to send the pictures of the damaged product. I emailed the pictures of the damaged product to the Tradus.in customer care team immediately. Even after providing all the information/pictures to Tradus.in customer care, they doesn't seem to be bothered much and they have again asked me to wait till they get a response from their so called "Back end team". Also, most of my emails to their customer service goes unanswered and Tradus.in DOES NOT HAVE A CUSTOMER CARE PHONE NUMBER EITHER.

Though Tradus.in portrays itself as a customer friendly online store (by saying 15 days return policy, etc...), I would strongly suggest you to think twice before making any purchase at Tradus.in. If something goes wrong with the product that your order at Tradus.in, then you are dead.

Out of the 100s of purchases I have made online, this is my first bad experience and Tradus.in customer care literally sucks. If this happened in US, I would have definitely sued Tradus.in for their irresponsible attitude and for taking a genuine customer for a ride.

P.S: I have added some emails below that I received from Tradus.in until now to prove my point. I have also attached the pictures of the damaged product that was delivered to me.

Dear Customer,

Sincere apologies for the inconvenience caused.

In accordance to our telephonic conversation yesterday, we would like to inform that your complaint has already been forwarded to the manufacturer (Videocon) of the product ordered by you.

They have assigned a service engineer for this case who would shortly visit your place to check if the product is in repairable condition or not, in case it can not be repaired, it would be replaced as we only deal in branded products with manufacturer's warranty for our precious customer's peace of mind.

We will provide you the complaint number for the same as soon as we get it from the manufacturer.
