[Resolved] Union Bank Of India — dishonour of cheque despite of sufficient funds
I hold an S/B account in Union Bank of India in chennai and issued a Cheque for Rs 13500 to SBI credit card last month which was dishonoured by the bank stating that due to insufficient funds But from the date i issued the cheque and till it came in for clearance my account balance was more than Rs 16000 and i was liable to pay a cheque dishonour penalty of Rs 400 to the credit card. When approached to the bank i was told that the cheque transactions are outsourced nowadays so they don't have a direct control over this issue. I feel this is a sheer negligence of responsibility, service and consumer service by the Public sector Bank. I need further details to proceed in filing a consumer case with a detailed documentation for supporting my case for better compensation for the damage the bank had made to me personally making me look as a criminal offender in front of the credit card company. I am a Clinical Psychologist by Profession and I am thoroughly undergone the mental harassment for two days due to this mistake by the bank. Was this information helpful?
